Roadhouse

Am I the only motherfucker in the world that watches "Roadhouse" every time it comes on?
I know it's a cheesy fucking movie, but Sam Elliot is one of my favorite actors.
I love the part when he kicks that dude in the knee, grins, and says "Goddamn, that hurt, didn't it?"
I bet I've seen that movie a hundred times and I'm watching it again tonight.

  1. I watch it EVERYTIME I see it on. That and Rudy - you can't help it.

  2. Can't be helped; it's entertaining, even if it's a little on the silly side in parts. Can't disagree about Sam Elliot either.

  4. Yep on both accounts (Red Dawn, too). The weekend Patrick died, I watched both these movies a few times. Timeless.

I still say "That dog won't hunt". LOL

  7. Can't ever pass it up. My other favorite quote, Dalton: "I want you to be nice until it's time to not be nice." Fairly god words to live by too in my opinion. :-)

At least have the decency to make up a name if you're too chickenshit to leave your own."

  12. Lots of people make fun of it - most famously Ron White, I think - and put it down as a bad film, or say they like it because "...it's so bad it's good." *I* like it because it's a re-telling of the classic Western tale "lone cowboy rides into town, gets the girl, and whips the Big Bad Guy."

And this: having worked as a bouncer in more than a few types of bars, I can tell you from personal experience that when he takes charge at the Double Deuce the way he deals with the existing crew and the speech he gives the ones he kept and the new guys about how they are to do the job is *precisely* the way the job should be done. Been there, done that, wore out the t-shirt and broke the coffee cup.
