Strong quake hits New Zealand, causing injuries

Folks, New Zealand provided a harbor, hospitality, and supported our Marines and Navy during WWII. We owe them a huge debt. Please, if you hear of any any relief efforts that you can help with, I beg that you do so.
Warren, please contact me via email when you can and let me know that you and yours are okay. If there's anything I can do, just let me know. PLEASE contact me.....

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – A powerful earthquake hit the New Zealand city of Christchurch on Tuesday, collapsing buildings, burying vehicles under debris and sending rescuers scrambling to help trapped people amid reports of multiple deaths.
Police said they were trying to confirm the early reports of multiple fatalities from the 6.3-magnitude quake, the second major temblor to strike the city since last September, while Prime Minister John Key told Parliament details still were too shaky to confirm deaths.

  1. Well unless there's a lot of black folks and union members there I'm thinking "DUH WON" won't really be concerned with history....

And I'm betting they will gain a lot of help from us good Americans that know the value of friendship.

  2. Hey, I'm a Union member and so is Woody but I'm betting we'll both be kicking a few bucks to them.
Hey, it's not politics but ignorance of history that we're talking about here. Too many motherfuckers can't or won't remember what happened in our Grandfather's lifetime.

  3. Just spoke to parents and brother in NZ, all fine as I expected, they are a long way from the quake zone. Lots of devastation and the death toll keeps rising so thoughts are with those affected. Wife and I are supposed to be flying to Christchurch next sunday to start a bit of a trip around fjiordland, hopefully it will still go ahead but we'll have to wait and see I guess.
    Thanks for your concern Ken.

  5. This is quite a blow to the country's population. atleast 60 deaths is a lot for a country who's population is 1000. Prayers going up for our friends in New Zealand! Prayers and condolences to those who lost family and other loved ones in this terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Christchurch, New Zealand. let us give them a help in any way possible.

  6. Union member Wirecutter? I guess I should have said SEIU....My Bad.

All the BS in Wisconsin got my blood boiling, I do understand the difference between decent unions and those slugs.

I'm kickin in a few bucks as well, but a word to the wise. Use the United way or reputable private charities. (Faith Based) I learned the hard way about how the Red Cross works after Hurricane Katrina.

  7. I have friends in Christchurch, NZ and I can't get in contact with them, by phone or internet. I'm worried. That last earthquake was a bastard, and now this. Please, please, please.....be alright.
