Two reporters missing in Syria
LONDON -- International news agency Reuters says two of its journalists have gone missing in Syria.
Reuters said television producer Ayat Basma and cameraman Ezzat Baltaji, both Lebanese nationals, failed to make it to the Lebanese border as planned on Saturday evening, and could not be reached by telephone.
The agency reported Sunday that a senior editor planned to travel to the capital Damascus to speak to Syrian officials.

NATO to assume control over Libya
I'm reading here and there that very shortly the US is going to hand over Operation Bootinyernuts to NATO and we're going to be pretty much done with it.
Excuse me? That sounds all well and good except that the US forces in Europe pretty much are NATO. Hell, I can tell you from experience that at least in West Germany in the 70s and 80s, the US Army and Air Force had a stronger military presence than Germany herself did. It wasn't German aircraft taking off from Rhein Main or Sembach or Spangdalem or Ramstein for CAPs. It wasn't German troops that spent the winters out in the field. It wasn't German forces that went on alert once a month or more. It was NATO (interpet that US) troops.
Now I know there was a big drawdown of troops once the Cold War ended - matter of fact, the kaserne that I was stationed at for 3 wonderful years is now an industrial park - but you can't tell me that the German forces are the main players there now.
So we're going to hand over the reins to NATO. Big fucking deal. I can doubledamn guarantee you that we'll still be flying as many missions then as we are now. Maybe even more because you know that France will find a way to surrender or just quit and somebody will have to take up their slack.

It traced him from a train on the way to Erlangen at the start through to that last night, when he was home in Berlin.

Dammit, Hire a Vet......
Serving their country may earn military veterans thanks from a grateful nation, but many say that when it comes to landing a job, it isn't opening doors.
Nationwide, veterans face a higher-than- average unemployment rate. While the U.S. unemployment fell to 9 percent for January, the jobless rate for all veterans over the age of 18 was 9.9 percent, and 15.2 percent for those in the service since 2001.
I'm sorry but everytime I see a headline or story like this, it blows my fucking mind.
I cannot believe that business owners aren't putting Vets at the top of the hiring lists.
Call me old fashioned, but goddammit, these kids have put their lives on the line - gave 3 or 4 or more years of their lives for the US - for me and you - years that they will never get back and yet they can't find a job when they get out.
Hey, I know what I'm talking about. When I got out in '81 I walked street after street putting in applications at every fucking business I came across, only to be told that there was nothing for me even though I was a hard charging young ex Buck Sergeant. Not only that but I couldn't even draw unemployment because I had "voluntarily quit the Service" (honorably discharged) yet folks that were kicked out were eligible to draw benefits........
Six months later found me as a bodyguard/driver for a drug dealer.
You gotta do what you gotta do but I fell into the lifestyle of dealing Meth and weed. Hey, it was fun but it wasn't exactly the American dream if you know what I mean......
And so now you know my secret.
It wasn't a job that I'm proud of, not even a life that I reveal to a lot of folks. But fuck, I had to make a living and the job paid well enough to support myself and a cutie and her child, even provided lots of extras.
I did good, made a name for myself and provided for the three of us, but what really pissed me off was that all these motherfuckers that sucked government teats wouldn't hire us that provided those goodies.
Dammit, I wasn't asking for your world, but I sure could've used a decent job.
And now our vets are going through the same shit again.
Brothers and Sisters, if you are in a position to do so, please PLEASE hire a vet even if they're not not completely qualified. Train them if you can. Goddamn it, appreciate the sacrifices that these youngsters have made for us. And please remember that nobody forced them to give 3 or 4 or more years of theyre' lives - they volunteered, each and every motherfucking one of them.

Any questions?
All my life I've tried to conform to other folks' standards, I've tried to please those around me, I've tried to be somewhat respectable.
I've failed miserably. Seriously, I have.
I can't tell you the shit that I've failed at and I can't tell you the folks that take every motherfucking opportunity to tell me so, not that I give a good goddamn, you motherfuckers.
I've failed at the only marriage I attempted, more relationships that I care to remember, and more hunting seasons that I can count.
But you know what?
FUUUUUUCK YOU. Seriously.
I've realized that I could personally give a flying fuck less what anybody thinks about me.
I could lose my job tomorrow and I'll survive. It'll be hard but I'll make it.
Lose my house? No biggie.
Friends? Those that are true will hang no matter what. If they don't, fuck 'em. The only friend I had that I could seriously trust with my life fucked me when I really needed him. I'll never depend on him again.
Seriously. I'm my own man. I'll live the best I can, I'll do what I have to, and I answer to no motherfucker.

So there was a young man shot this weekend by on off-duty officer. The guy had mental issues, was admitted to the local nutter and had escaped, was breaking into homes and scaring folks when he was confronted by the officer.
A sad situation for sure - I'm not making light of the issues at all, believe me.

CharlieGodammit went to Doggie Jail yesterday.
Some sorry motherfucker made the mistake of reaching over his gate and got his shit tore up as a result. This is the second time it's happened.
I came in from work last night and Johnny Law was there in my driveway taking pictures with yellow tape across my driveway. This is generally not a good thing.....
I got out of my truck and asked the the policeman if he had a warrant and if not to get the fuck off my property and he said that it was a crime scene and a warrant wasn't needed.
He told me to calm the fuck down - that he was there to collect evidence and my wolf/dog and me if I gave him a problem both of us would go to jail.
I ain't real stupid and can take a hint.
I invited him inside and listened to what he had to say.
He was real nice. He told me that somebody had reached over CGDs' gate and got chewed upon to the tune of 48 stitches. Because there was an injury involved, he had to take the dog and asked me to control him so there wouldn't be any complications.
Complications? The only complications are gonna be if you mistreat my dog.
When I escorted him out back, CGD jumped up on me (never have been able to break him of that) and then sat like a good boy. He was covered in blood and just prouder than hell, the silly motherfucker. He didn't have enough sense to hide in the neighbors' yard and hide the evidence.
The only thing he did to the stranger (the officer) was to lick his hand.
I presented the Law with his County registration, his Rabies Shot certificate and my dog. God, that hurt.
I was told I could retrieve him in the morning, it was just a formality and if there were any problems I could count on him to testify for CGDs' character.
I was at the pound 2 hours before they opened, me and CGD were hollering at each other long before the staff showed up. I was talking, he was howling and before long we had the entire pound yapping, yippling and barking. It was great.
I ate hamburger today, he had steak.
I love that motherfucker.........

Obama says he didn’t inform Mexico of U.S. gun smuggling operation because he didn’t know about it

Under fire for an operation that allowed smuggling of U.S. weapons across the nation’s border with Mexico, President Obama said in an interview that neither he nor Attorney General Eric Holder authorized the controversial “Operation Fast and Furious.”
The Mexican government has complained that it didn’t know about the U.S. operation that allowed guns to illegally cross the southwestern border so they could track the weapons.
Obama told Univision‘s Jorge Ramos that President Felipe Calderon wasn’t informed of the operation because he — the president of the United States — wasn’t informed either. When asked whether he knew of the weapon smuggling plan, Obama responded that it is “a pretty big government” with “a lot of moving parts.”
The investigation into the program comes after it was connected to two weapons that were found at the scene of a border shootout that killed U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in December. Likewise, a gun smuggled from the U.S. were used to kill Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent Jamie Zapata, but it has not been determined if it was part of “Fast and Furious.”
When President Calderon came to visit Washington recently, the two presidents came together on a policy to stop drug and weapon smuggling across the border.
“Our policy is to ram up the interdiction of guns flowing south because that’s contributing to some of the security problems that are taking place in Mexico and what we’re doing is trying to build the kind of cooperation between Mexico and the United States that we haven’t seen before,” Obama told Univision.
The president said his attorney general has been “very clear that our policy is to catch gunrunners and put them into jail.”
The controversial operation was the subject of a CBS News Investigation that reported ATF was allowing traffickers to bring weapons into Mexico in order to track them rather than arresting the traffickers. Obama said Holder has assigned an inspector general to investigate what happened, because he does not know who authorized the operation.
“Letting guns ‘walk’ is not something that is acceptable,” Holder said during a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee hearing. “Guns are different than drugs or money when we are trying to follow their trail. That is not acceptable.”
Holder said he made this clear to attorneys and ATF agents.

So I went to Firefox at all my readers' advice and promptly lost all my favorites. Yes, I clicked on the link to transfer them but I'll be a muslim camel fucking queer if I can find them.
I have a shitload of right-wing blogs, militia sites, music, coyote hunting shit and history (both US and family) sites saved to favorites on IE and now I'll be fucked if I can find them. It's 1 AM, I've been at this for hours and I'm so fucking pissed that I'm about to shoot something somebody anybody.
Suggestions please before I revert back to IE?

Seriously. Boycott any business that is muslim owned or hires muslim employees.
It's something I do and it's not that fucking hard for you to do. Just ask any business that you patronize if they are muslim owned or if they have any muslim employees. If they do, or if they hesitate in any way, shape, or form to answer your simple question, boycott their ass and tell them why.
Tell them that you will not patronize any business that is owned by or employs anybody that is an enemy of our country and our way of life. Do it politely but adamantly.
Yeah, you might get some shitty comments and you may have to do a minor sacrifice on your end. Big fucking deal.
Hey, I've given up my dentist and my mechanic but it's a no biggie to do my part for my Nation.
It's illegal for an employer to discriminate against anybody because of religion but nobody says that you have to do business with that company.

Mother of the Year
This shit took place in Ceres, just a couple of miles south of here.
That's the kind of trash we have around here - not only does she do this shit but she films it and posts it on Youtube which is how she got busted.
CERES -- Child Protective Services is investigating the Ceres mother who police said not only encouraged her 14-year-old son to fight, but facilitated the altercation.
The fist fight, which occurred earlier this month, was captured on a cell phone video camera. Spouting profanities, Jennifer Zuniga, 33, can be heard repeatedly telling her son “Rito” to beat up the other boy.
The catalyst of the boys’ animosity was “an exchange of stares and derogatory statements” that started at Blaker Kinser Junior High School, according to Ceres Police Sgt. Jose Berber.
Zuniga was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She is free on $25,000 bail.

Armed Beauty Queen Fatally Shoots Intruder in Florida Home Invasion
When a burly ex-convict forced his way into a posh Florida home last week, he had no idea what awaited him -- a 25-year-old beauty queen with a pink .38-caliber handgun.
Meghan Brown, a former Florida pageant queen, shot and killed 42-year-old Albert Franklin Hill during a home invasion March 12 at the 2,732-square-foot house she shares with her fiance in Tierra Verde, Fla.
Hill barged into the home at around 3 a.m. after Brown responded to a knock at the front door, according to a police report. He allegedly grabbed the 110-pound Brown around her nose and mouth and dragged her to an upstairs bedroom.
The woman’s fiance, Robert Planthaber, said in an interview that he was quickly awakened by the altercation and ran to Brown’s side.
"I attacked him and took a severe beating to the head," Planthaber told FoxNews.com. "But I got him off of her long enough for her to scramble to the room where she keeps her pink .38 special.”
Brown, who reigned as the 2009 Miss Tierra Verde, snatched her gun from a nearby bedroom and shot the suspect several times – hitting him in the chest, groin, thigh and back, her fiance said. Hill was pronounced dead at the scene.

Illegal immigrants in US Marine uniforms arrested
SAN DIEGO -- Border Patrol agents in San Diego say they have caught 13 illegal immigrants wearing U.S. Marine uniforms.
Agency spokesman Michael Jimenez says Tuesday that the van was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint March 14 along Interstate 8. Jimenez says the van had a U.S. government license plate with an altered number. He says it's not known where the group obtained the military uniforms.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is handling the investigation. Navy investigators referred calls to Washington, D.C., and no one could be reached for comment Tuesday afternoon.
Jimenez says two U.S. citizens who were with the immigrants were arrested on suspicion of alien smuggling. He says three of the illegal immigrants are being held in federal custody as witnesses and the others have been returned to Mexico, their country of origin.

The woman that answered the phone was cheery and polite and wanted to know how she could help me.

"Well, go ahead Mr. Lane. I'll try to help you as best as I can."
"First off, it ain't mister. I answer to Kenny or Chico the Slot. But I'm fixin' to retire in about 3-4 years and I was wondering if I can collect my pension in the penitentiary?"
"Beg your pardon, Sir?"
"Kenny or Chico the Slot. Not sir or mister. Can I collect my pension in the joint?" I was trying to be patient.
"I'm sorry, are you wondering if you can collect your pension while incarcerated? In custody? Is that correct, Mr. - I mean Kenny?"

FOX NEWS EXCLUSIVE: An attack on the compound of Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi on Sunday had to be curtailed because of journalists nearby, Fox News has learned.
British sources confirmed that seven Storm Shadow missiles were ready to be fired from a British aircraft, but the strikes had to be curtailed due to crews from CNN, Reuters and other organizations nearby. Officials from Libya's Ministry of Information brought those journalists to the area to show them damage from the initial attack and to effectively use them as human shields.
The curtailment of this mission led to a great deal of consternation by coalition commanders, sources told Fox News, but they opted to call off the mission to avoid civilian casualties.
During a Pentagon briefing on Monday, coalition commanders said the huge compound was targeted due to its air defense systems on the perimeter and a military command and control center. It was not targeted to kill Qaddafi, commanders said.

A Rio Linda man chased down and killed an innocent victim whom he mistook for a burglar early Sunday, a sheriff's department spokesman said.
Steven Andrew Zinda, 29, was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a single charge of murder.
"At this point we believe the victim in this case had no involvement in the burglary whatsoever," Sheriff's Deputy Jason Ramos said.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office did not identify the dead man Sunday.
Ramos described the day's events:
At about 4:30 a.m., Zinda called 911 to report he had interrupted a break-in at his home in the 7200 block of 2nd Street in Rio Linda. Zinda said he had chased, caught and confronted the man, who ran from the home, and that he had injured the burglary suspect in the confrontation, Ramos said.
When deputies arrived, Zinda directed them to a field about a quarter mile from his home. Officers found an unresponsive man, who was later pronounced dead, Ramos said.
The victim had injuries "consistent with an edged weapon being used," Ramos said.
Investigators recovered the weapon, he said. Earlier Sunday, a television station reported the weapon was an axe. Ramos would not confirm or deny the report.
Zinda was interviewed by detectives. Based on the interview and further investigation, detectives believe Zinda made a serious error in an attempt at "vigilante justice," Ramos said.
Zinda may have seen someone leaving his house, Ramos said. He went inside for a weapon, and when he returned, he saw the victim, who ran.
"The victim had the misfortune of being in the immediate area when Zinda discovered the burglary," Ramos said. "Zinda thought he was involved and chased him down."
Ramos said a homeowner has the right to protect himself and family from an intruder. But the force used has to be justified, he said.
"If you use deadly force a quarter mile away from your house, you'd be hard pressed to articulate some kind of imminent threat," he said.
Hey, I hate a thief just as much as the next motherfucker but the simple fact is that once the intruder flees, he no longer poses a threat and under the law, deadly force is not justified.
And the simple fact of the matter is that no matter how much me or you hates a thief, that crime just doesn't justify a killing (unless you live in Texas) - a thorough ass-whipping, yes - but not death. And I'm pretty sure even Texas frowns upon killing a thief that has left the scene.
And as far as the victim running away? Hey, if I was unarmed and saw a pissed off motherfucker running towards me with a fucking axe, I'd haul ass too.

San Antonio police Sgt. Chris Benavides says officers used tear gas Sunday night to force the man from the hotel room after a three-hour standoff. The man is charged with three counts of attempted capital murder. Authorities have not released his name.
