Iran's Khamenei warns US over assassination claims
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's supreme leader warned the United States on Sunday that any measures taken against Tehran over an alleged plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington would elicit a "resolute" response.

Two men, including a member of the Iranian special foreign actions unit known as the Quds Force, have been charged in New York federal court with conspiring to kill the Saudi diplomat, Adel Al-Jubeir. U.S. officials have said no one was ever in any immediate danger from the plot.

Khamenei, who has the final say on all state matters in Iran, said that the U.S. accused Iran of terror in order to divert attention from its economic woes and from the Occupy Wall Street protest movement.

"By attributing an absurd and meaningless accusation to a few Iranians, they tried ... to show that Iran is a supporter of terrorism. ... This conspiracy didn't work and won't work," he said.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, for his part, dismissed the U.S. accusations as a fabricated "scenario."

"Iran is a civilized nation and doesn't need to resort to assassination," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying Sunday by the official IRNA news agency. "The culture of terror belongs to you," he said, addressing the United States.

A Costa Mesa man on Friday received a 20-year sentence and four months in prison for killing an Orange Coast College student and model in a drunk-driving crash on Valentine's Day 2010.
Gustavo Adrian Vega, 24, was sentenced in Orange County Superior Court for killing Cara Lee, 20.

Vega had been convicted of murder, felony hit-and-run and felony possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, on June 30, according to court records.

According to prosecutors, Vega was driving drunk on Flower Street heading toward Sunflower Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 14, 2010, when he sped through a red light and his Toyota Tundra pickup crashed into a Toyota Corolla, killing Lee, who was working as a model.

Vega fled the scene and was later found by Costa Mesa police hiding in a nearby housing complex. He had a blood-alcohol content level of .17 — more than twice the legal limit — according to a news release from the Orange County district attorney's office.

Lee was an only child and a cancer survivor who beat the disease when she was 17, according to theDaily Pilot.

Western states are looking south of the border for water to fill drinking glasses, flush toilets and sprinkle lawns, as four major U.S. water districts help plan one of two huge desalination plant proposals in Playas de Rosarito, about 15 miles south of San Diego. Combined, they would produce 150 million gallons a day, enough to supply more than 300,000 homes on both sides of the border.

The Black House will be sending its' condolences

(LWJ) — The son of the ‘Blind Sheikh,’ the spiritual leader of the Egyptian Islamic Group who is in a US jail for the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center, was killed in a US airstrike in Afghanistan, according to a statement released today by the terror group.
The Egyptian Islamic Group announced that Ahmed Omar Abdul Rahman, who is also known as Saif, “was killed in an American air bombing from an unmanned plane on the frontlines in Afghanistan,” according to a brief statement that was released on the terror group’s website. The statement was translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.
The Egyptian Islamic Group said Ahmed was killed today, but did not state where in Afghanistan he was killed. Ahmed’s role in the Egyptian Islamic Group was not disclosed.
The International Security Assistance Force could not confirm the report of Ahmed’s death. “We have no operational reporting of this event,” an ISAF spokesman told The Long War Journal.
Ahmed is the son of Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, or the Blind Sheikh who is currently serving a life sentence in a US federal prison for his role in the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 that killed six Americans. Al Qaeda operations chief Khalid Sheikh Mohammed financed the operation, and several al Qaeda operatives, including Ramzi Yousef, carried out the attack. The terror group detonated a large truck bomb in the basement of the building with the intent of bringing the North tower crashing down onto the South Tower. Eight years later, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed succeeded in bringing down both buidlings by orchestrating the ramming of airplanes into the Twin Towers during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

Brians' views on the Conservative candidates

There comes a time when you back up and regroup. Politically that seems to be expedient, Romney was never top of my list, not once, Bachmann, well let us just say, not gonna happen. Perry? Well, on paper he might be a good candidate but his fumble in debates can not be dismissed. Cain? Herman Cain? At first I was suspect, now I cast a jaundiced eye.

Thing is, after a few debates and listening to his speeches I am becoming a fan, yeah yeah I know, a bit early to pick a horse in this race, but come on, this is a race of cripples, (no offense mean,t I am 90% disabled myself) they all have problems. Thing is Politics aside, the fate of OUR Country comes into play and for the life of me I can not figure out why Romney, Bachmann and Perry need to be running, according to their platforms and their debates the current crisis is just an easy fix - all we have to do is elect them, They say we need Leadership. Therein lies the problem, I say we need Representatives. Not leaders,

We The People are the leaders and they are supposed to "Represent Us". I do not think I am wrong about this, read the "Federalist Papers" or read the Constitution, both will show you a new light on what we are seeing.

Right now, Herman Cain is the only person I see that has embraced what our Founding Fathers put all their money and and blood into, and some, if you actually know history gave their life for it.

How many today would stand so firm, stand so fast that life is worth their liberty?

Few if any. Well OK, a few, there is a few core Americans that abide by and embrace Liberty Or Death. I think you will find they are also the ones that put on the uniform and fight or fought for Liberty.

Iran acknowledged as a failure Wednesday its attempt to send a live monkey into space last month -- touted as its first step towards launching a man into space.
"The Kavoshgar-5 rocket carrying a capsule with a live animal (a monkey) was launched during Shahrivar," an Iranian calendar month spanning August 23 to September 22, Deputy Science Minister Mohammad Mehdinejad-Nouri was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.
"However, the launch was not publicised as all of its anticipated objectives were not accomplished," Mehdinejad-Nouri told reporters.
He said the launch of a live animal into space was "strategic, and a priority," and expressed hope that future launches would attain more of the objectives set.
On October 3, Iran indefinitely postponed plans to send a live monkey into space, without giving any reasons.
"One cannot give a set date for this project and as soon as our nation's scientists announce the readiness (of the project) it will be announced," said Hamid Fazeli, head of Iran's Space Organisation.
The project envisaged launching a capsule with life support using the Kavoshgar-5 rocket to an altitude of 120 kilometres (75 miles) for a 20-minute sub-orbital flight.
The project was unveiled in February by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
At the time, Fazeli touted the launch of a large animal as the first step towards sending a man into space, which Tehran says is scheduled for 2020.
In mid-March, Iran announced the successful launch of an earlier version of the rocket, Kavoshgar-4, carrying a test capsule designed to house the monkey.
Iran has already sent small animals into space -- a rat, turtles and worms -- aboard a capsule carried by its Kavoshgar-3 rocket in 2010.
The Islamic republic, which first put a satellite into orbit in 2009, has outlined an ambitious space programme amid Western concerns the rocket technology may be linked to developing ballistic missiles that could deliver nuclear warheads.
Tehran has repeatedly denied that its nuclear and scientific programmes mask military ambitions.

The Japanese feared the apology would be exploited by anti-nuclear groups and those opposed to the defensive alliance between Japan and the U.S.

Whatever Tokyo's motive, Obama's motive was to once again apologize for defending freedom, this time for winning with devastating finality the war Japan started.

New Maine Law Aims To Eliminate Wolf-Dog Hybrids

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Wolf hybrids, animals that are a cross between wolves and dogs, will vanish from Maine over time if a new state law works as designed.
The law prohibits people from acquiring wolf hybrids without a special wildlife-in-captivity permit, and it requires current owners to have the animals neutered.
Supporters of the law say wolf hybrids have been responsible for numerous brutal attacks around the country, particularly against children. Wolf hybrids are predatory and should be in the wild, said state Sen. David Trahan, who sponsored the bill that outlaws them.
"Wolf hybrids are not pets,'' he said. "Would people consider bringing a coyote or mountain lion into their home crossed with another cat or another dog?''
Jim Doughty, who operates a wolf hybrid refuge in Bristol that is not affected by the law because it is already licensed by the state, said people who want the animals will skirt the law by licensing them as shepherd or huskie mixes rather than wolf hybrids. The law is misguided and unfairly brands the animals, said Doughty, who keeps four wolf hybrids at the Wolf Ledge Refuge.
"Any animal, no matter whether it's a pure wolf or a Chihuahua or a pug or anything else, depends on the person and how they raise it,'' he said. "It's the same thing with your kids. If you're abusive toward your kids, they're not going to be so good. If you work with them, they'll be great.''
Maine legislators last spring passed emergency legislation aimed at getting rid of wolf hybrids, which are also known as wolf dogs or wolf-dog hybrids. Trahan introduced the legislation after people in his district raised concerns about Doughty's wolf hybrid refuge, which he opened last year and is licensed to have up to 20 of the animals.
Wolf hybrids have been responsible for at least 84 attacks that have either maimed or killed people in the past three decades, said Merritt Clifton, editor of Animal People, an animal protection newspaper based in Washington state. Of those attacks, 69 involved children and 19 resulted in deaths.
Clifton, who has tracked dog attacks nationally for decades, said that's a huge number considering wolf dogs make up only an estimated 1/100th of 1 percent of all dogs in the U.S.

Fuck, I love my wolfdog. He's the first one I've ever lived with (I don't think anybody could own that motherfucker) and I wouldn't be adverse to owning another one. He's got all the qualities I've ever wanted in a dog, and then some.
He's protective of his property without being aggressive, but he lets it be known he won't put up with any bullshit. He loves kids and other animals, loves women but not so much men which is cool when you consider most burglars are men. There's no doubt in my mind that he'd die for me and Lisa if it came down to the wire.
His bad points? I don't think I'll ever be able to tame him completely, not that I'd want to. He still has a few wild ways. He minds when he wants to, if not, he just wanders off. He'll never be broke completely to a leash - he has to lead. He plays really rough with me when we roughhouse, almost to the point of him drawing blood. And last but not least, he's smart, a lot smarter than he needs to be. There's times I'll swear that fucker can reason just like a human.
I gotta agree with the article though. It just depends on the owner and how the animal is treated. I've seen some good dogs ruined for life, by both cruelty and (ARE YOU READING THIS,  LISA?) spoiling it. I've found over the years that it's best to show very little emotion when dealing with the dog right at first - don't get angry and don't lavish it with rewards when it does good. And never ever hit or kick the dog unless you want to look over your shoulder the rest of it's life. You may forget doing it but I doubledamn guarentee you that it won't. And to be straight up with you, if you're the kind to take out your temper on an animal, you deserve to get bit.

Well, nobody can accuse me of trying to impress anybody. Of course I took the fucking pictures where it was clean - I was out there to take pictures, not clean the bed of my truck. Jeez.....
Besides, all the stuff in my truck is important or it wouldn't be there.

The funny thing about all that riding right up against the cab is that it keeps CGD on his toes when he's in the back. He's more nimble than he looks.

Aimless Obama walks alone

The reports are not good, disturbing even. I have heard basically the same story four times in the last 10 days, and the people doing the talking are in New York and Washington and are spread across the political spectrum.
The gist is this: President Obama has become a lone wolf, a stranger to his own government. He talks mostly, and sometimes only, to friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett and to David Axelrod, his political strategist.
Everybody else, including members of his Cabinet, have little face time with him except for brief meetings that serve as photo ops. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner both have complained, according to people who have talked to them, that they are shut out of important decisions.
The president’s workdays are said to end early, often at 4 p.m. He usually has dinner in the family residence with his wife and daughters, then retreats to a private office. One person said he takes a stack of briefing books. Others aren’t sure what he does.
If the reports are accurate, and I believe they are, they paint a picture of an isolated man trapped in a collapsing presidency. While there is no indication Obama is walking the halls of the White House late at night, talking to the portraits of former presidents, as Richard Nixon did during Watergate, the reports help explain his odd public remarks.

Cain - Move Protests to the White House

(CNSNews.com) - Republican presidential nominee candidate Herman Cain called for the Occupy Wall Street protestors to relocate to the White House, in remarks he made Friday at the Family Research Council’s annual Values Voter Summit, in Washington, D.C.
“When a reporter asked me the other day, well, what do you think about those demonstrations up on Wall Street, I said, first of all, Wall Street didn’t write these failed economic policies -- the White House did,” said Cain.
He then added, “Why don’t you move the demonstrations to the White House?”
The Values Voter Summit is a three-day conference that brings together conservatives aligned on traditional ideas, beliefs and values. The summit also included appearances by presidential nominee candidates Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich.
“Wall Street didn’t write those failed policies, Wall Street didn’t spend a trillion dollars,” said Cain. “Wall Street isn’t asking to spend another $450 billion. It didn’t work with a trillion. It’s not gonna’ work with $450 billion. You can demonstrate all you want on Wall Street. The problem is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue!”
Cain also quoted the Declaration of Independence, stating that “it is the right of the people to alter and to abolish” the government. “We’ve got some altering and abolishing to do!” he said.
“I want to thank you all for being here, because that means you get it,” Cain remarked. “And you’re not going to let the liberals take this country down.”
“I may not have ever held a high political office, but I know what leaders do,” said Cain, who made an appeal to those in attendance with an endorsement of traditional values, pro-life beliefs and an understanding that marriage is defined as between one man and one woman. He also said as president he would have asked the Department of Justice to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which the Obama administration is not doing, and is, in fact, actively opposing.

Proposed millionaires income tax would hit Democratic states hardest

The millionaire tax being pushed by Senate Democrats this week would hit taxpayers in Democrat-dominated states almost twice as hard as those in Republican-dominated states, according to an analysis by The Daily Caller.

States that have elected two Republican senators tend to have much lower levels of economic inequality than states which have elected two Democratic senators. Democrat-dominated states tend to have higher percentages of very rich people, higher percentages of very poor people, and a lower percentage of middle-income people.

Homeland Security Released Terror Operative Who Illegally Crossed Border (PJM Exclusive)

Two Bangladeshis who were caught by Customs and Border Protection illegally crossing the border in June 2010 admitted under questioning that they were members of a designated terrorist organization that signed on to a fatwa by Osama bin Laden pledging to wage war against Americans.
But amazingly, after one of the men requested asylum, he was released on bond. And now one Homeland Security official tells me, concerning the released terror operative, “We don’t have the slightest idea where he is now.”
The two men, Muhammad Nazmul Hasan and Mirza Muhammad Saifuddin, were intercepted near Naco, Arizona, not long after they had crossed the border on June 25, 2010. During their interrogation, one of the men admitted that they were members of Harakat-ul-Jihad-i-Islami Bangladesh (HuJI-B), which was designated a terrorist organization by the United States in February 2008. Earlier this month the group claimed responsibility for a bombing a courthouse in New Delhi. That attack killed 11 and wounded at least 45 others.
A 2006 State Department report described HuJI-B’s goals and connections to other terrorist groups, including al-Qaeda:

The goal of HUJI-B is to establish Islamic rule in Bangladesh. The group’s core membership consists primarily of Bangladeshi veterans of fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan. The Bangladeshi Government arrested a senior HUJI-B leader, Mufti Abdul Hannan, in October. HUJI-B has connections to the Pakistani militant groups Harakat ul-Jihad-I-Islami (HUJI) and Harakat ul-Mujahedin (HUM), which advocate similar objectives in Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders of HUJI-B and HUM both signed the February 1998 fatwa sponsored by Usama bin Ladin that declared American civilians to be legitimate targets for attack.

Capturing two terrorist operatives illegally crossing the border would appear to be a big win for the Border Patrol. But in a stunning move, one of the men was released on bond after claiming asylum.
A Homeland Security official I met with last week in Washington, D.C., who was familiar with the case says that no government agency is tasked with monitoring those that are released pending asylum hearings, and that the terror operative’s whereabouts now are unknown.

That this guy was allowed out on bond is criminal. We don’t have the slightest idea where he is now. If he sets off a car bomb in Tucson or Phoenix, or shoots up a shopping mall or elementary school somewhere, there will be a lot of finger-pointing. But nobody seems that concerned about it now. And this is not the first time something like this has happened.

Back in March I reported here exclusively at PJMedia on a Department of Justice memo submitted in a court case of Ahmed Muhammed Dhakane, who ran a human smuggling ring out of Brazil on behalf of the Somali Al-Shabaab terrorist organization. Dhakane was nearly granted asylum, but was eventually charged with lying about his terrorist associations based on his conversations with a jailhouse informant. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Dhakane’s case was representative of the surging wave of Somalis who have been intercepted crossing the border over the past two years. And now some officials are worried that the case of Hasan and Saifuddin might be the tip of the iceberg of extremist Bangladeshis who are leaving their country under pressure from authorities there cracking down on HuJI-B and setting up terror-support operations in the United States. And the preferred transit route into the U.S. appears to be illegally entering over the southern border — the route taken by the two Bangladeshi terror operatives.
