And yet not a single sheeple objected.....

Saw this linked over at III Percent Patriots a little bit ago.

Police Stop, Handcuff Every Adult at Intersection in Search for Bank Robber

Police in Aurora, Colo., searching for suspected bank robbers stopped every car at an intersection, handcuffed all the adults and searched the cars, one of which they believed was carrying the suspect.
Police said they had received what they called a “reliable” tip that the culprit in an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo bank committed earlier was stopped at the red light.
“We didn’t have a description, didn’t know race or gender or anything, so a split-second decision was made to stop all the cars at that intersection, and search for the armed robber,” Aurora police Officer Frank Fania told ABC News.
Officers barricaded the area, halting 19 cars.
“Cops came in from every direction and just threw their car in front of my car,” Sonya Romero, one of the drivers who was handcuffed, told ABC News affiliate KMGH-TV in Denver.
From there, the police went from car to car, removing the passengers and handcuffing the adults.
“Most of the adults were handcuffed, then were told what was going on and were asked for permission to search the car,” Fania said. “They all granted permission, and once nothing was found in their cars, they were un-handcuffed.”

The search lasted between an hour and a half and two hours, and it wasn’t until the final car was searched that police apprehended the suspect.
“Once officers got to his car, they found evidence that he was who they were looking for,” Fania said. “When they searched the car, they found two loaded firearms.”
The actions of the police have been met with some criticism, but Fania said this was a unique situation that required an unusual response.
“It’s hard to say what normal is in a situation like this when you haven’t dealt with a situation like this,” Fania said. “The result of the whole ordeal is that it paid off. We have arrested and charged a suspect.” And violated at least 19 Americans' Rights. (My comment)
The other people who had been held at the intersection were allowed to leave once the suspect was apprehended.

Not a single motherfucking soul said "Oh, FUCK NO you ain't searching me or my car without a warrant or probable cause that I, specifically me,  committed a crime." Not a one.
But a criminal was apprehended, you say. Yeah, and at least 19 people were treated as criminals to catch one. Not a fair trade off in my book. I don't give a flying fuck if it was an armed robbery.
Yeah, I know. I'm going to hear it from all the ex-cops out there. At least I don't have to hear from Texas Fred's fat mouth anymore. I wonder if he still jizzes all over himself every time a cop pats him on the head like the faithful old dog he is?

  1. My thoughts exactly. Sickening. No wonder they pull this shit - cause they can! Another sad day for freedom.

  2. Well someone commits a crime in a neighborhood subdivision, what next handcuff all the residents and search houses?

    WC is right, it's bullshit.

  3. Unreasonable authority ALWAYS claims that the end justifies the means.
Law enforcement should know, and would do well to remember, sooner or later the victims of such abuse turn against their abusers.

    I'm amazed they stopped there.

  5. Kenny,

This old ex-cop (San Diego PD back in the 70's and 80's) agrees with you. Those cowardly MF'ers allowed themselves to be handcuffed and then gave the bastards _permission_ to search? I knew Denver was a hotbed of liberal scum, but that takes the cake. Im surprised they didn't beg to be cavity-searched.

Well, since this country is full of ignorant sheep who are willing to get irradiated and groped just to get on a fricking airplane, it shouldn't surprise me that no one in that Denver intersection objected.

I don't think that shit would fly in Wyoming or most of Montana, but maybe I'm just kidding myself. When they start throwing roadblocks up where I am visiting here in Montana or down in Wyoming where I live, it will be "Neither Predator Nor Prey" time for this former peace keeper.

  6. Just relax into it, WC.
If you clench up, it only hurts more.

It's better if you just hold still and let the cops do what they need to do. It'll all be over quicker that way.

Do it for the children. So they can grow up in a cleaner, better smelling America, where everyone is obedient.

  7. I would bet that we will see more of this because the sharks are surely circling in the water now. While maybe it is true that not anyone protested, I can only envision several lawsuits being filed by a bunch of people(what was it, 19 folks handcuffed like dirtbags). If they were handcuffed at the whim of police instead of having granted the police permission to handcuff them (which is highly doubtful fior all 19) then they were all under arrest at the time, each and everyone. Why were they arrested if there was no probable cause. There could not have been probable cause for 19 arrests due to the fact they were searching for one bank robber, that was enough PC for one arrest and maybe the arrest of anyone actually with him.

Then police conducted what probably would be found to be illegal searches of those folks' cars. Why? Because they had asked them for permission to search the cars while they were under duress because they were in handcuffs after having been arrested for nothing. Yes, I foresee the city of Aurora, CO forking out big time on this one.

By the way, the barricade may have been legal, so too the temporary detention for the purpose of questioning the adults (without the handcuffs) but the handcuffing put it way over the line. If that police action is upheld in courts, up through the Supreme Court where it may likely wind up, and if people actually sue, then it may have been well long past time for a revolution in this country by then.

    All the best,
    Glenn B

  8. What bullshit. Not one person stood up and said no. How pathetic.

  9. This incident got some reporting on the legal blog The Volokh Conspiracy (which is a somewhat libertarian blog, including some of the lawyers who worked on the Obamacare case before the SCOTUS).

Their story and legal analysis is at http://volokh.com/2012/06/05/police-searching-for-bank-robber-stop-all-cars-at-intersection-handcuff-drivers-search-cars/

There are some pretty good legal citations there, especially the Ybarra case which is a good one to know if an officer tries to circumstantially establish probable cause.

Yes, it's a bit technical, but this story did not just drop off the radar.

  10. I live a little south of there. The reason they decided they found the guy was because they found 2 guns.

So, when I say "Fuck NO, get a warrant." and they toss my ass on the pavement with a knee in my back and then find my gun, would they have declared me the robber?
