  1. Damn I miss sitting around listening to old guys tell stories. At 52 every old guy I used to know is gone. This was great - thanks WC.

  2. I know, that was cool.
I'm the same age as you and realized last year when my grandpa finally up and died on us that I am the oldest male on that side of the family. At age 52. I am officially the old man at the table telling tales.
    How fucked up is that?

  3. man that is the funniest story I've heard in a long damn time.

Back in the early 80's I lived in Tuscon AZ. There was a bar not to far from where I lived, that had a bunch of old farts that hung out there. On the jukebox was a lot of old big band, swing music and etc from the 30's and 40's. I'd go in there, sit by myself but close to them, and play some of the tunes on the box, then sit back and listen to the old men, each song would remind them of something that was going on when the song came out and they'd get to talking about it, it was just fascinating to me to sit there and listen to them. I miss that more than I do some of the wide open bars I've hung out in. Like you say, now I'm the old fart that tells the stories lol

  5. Yeah, at 66 I'm one of those old farts.
I used to be a commercial diver and when I tell the tales of what we did back "then",(60's and 70's) no one believes you.

  6. That was great! Hell, put a New Mexican accent on those guys, and it would be my Dad and his buddies sitting around jawin about the old days. Hell, I'm gonna miss my old man this year again. This just reminded me that I have to get the reel to reel tapes changed over so I can hear his voice again. Thanks, WC,
