The best of the best?

A SWAT team in upstate New York is being mocked as an example of the difference between military and police training after an officer was captured peering through a backwards sight on his combat rifle.

As users on the military Reddit were quick to point out when the image was posted, the reverse sight makes it effectively useless.
Users mocked the SWAT officers training and some went so far as to question the motives of some of the men serving in local law enforcement.
The officer is using a 'military style' assault weapon with a close quarters combat sight that costs roughly $500.
'It's disturbing to think that 1) none of his buddies corrected it, and 2) he's in a real-life situation with his optic on backwards, which means he's never fired that rifle with the optic on it, which means it isn't zeroed and he thought it was OK to show up to a gunfight with an unzeroed weapon,' wrote one Reddit user.

*****

Not only did he not zero the weapon but apparently never even looked through the sight. But he looks cooler than shit in his military style gear, doesn't he?
Let me also point out that one of his teammates is holding a shotgun with his gloved finger on the trigger and if that ain't an accident waiting to happen, I don't know what is.

  1. Mistaken ID, this has to be the Omaha PD swat team. I stupidly but legally registered my handgun after moving to Omaha and the registering officer asked me what type of hand gun it was. It was a model 1911 .45 and he did not know what it was.

    Love your site

  3. No surprise. Look at LA. Those two clowns unloaded 100 rounds in to a car of the wrong make and color, with two women passengers, while hunting that "rogue" cop!

Either they received no training in handling weapons, or they don't have the brains and self control to be on the street with guns!! Of course they are still employed and have the full backing of their chief and union.

They are now the enemy. No doubt in my mind. I would not a trust any cop, anywhere. I have now instilled this in my kids as well. What a fucking shame. I hope they are all real proud of themselves.

You cops out there will say "it's not all of us". Guess what? You all allow the bad ones to stay on the job, so yeah it is all of you.

  4. The Dude in the helmet looks like he's not digging the fact that the Bald Guy had the 3 burrito special for lunch that day.

  6. Well, I guess the Proglodytes are right. We're fucked. We may as well surrender now. There's no way we can win against highly-trained tactical experts like these.

  7. I've attended firearms training with regular cops and swat teams...............the only ones worth their salt (and weren’t dangerous) had military experience.

The John Wayne wannabees will get you killed.

  8. Is the muzzle of his rifle jammed into what ever they are using as cover?

    Sure looks like it.

But don't you dare doubt that they are "The Only Ones".

  9. Paladin: To me, the guy in the helmet has that Eddie Murphy doing Mr. T look on his face -
"Hey boy, you look really good in those jeans. Come on over here, and..."
Mr. Clean in the back with his 80's popped-up collar also has his support hand on the cheek rest of what appears to be a pump-action shotgun, so if he does need to fire it, he has to jumble it about. But he just looks super cool like those guys in the Vietnam movies firing a mounted M60.

  10. Hey, let's lay off of the Tacticool LEO's and such. Leave them alone! Right now, I am VERY comfortable with their level of training. If this is the elite SWAT team, then just imagine what the average cop on the beat is capable, or not capable, of. If we continue to point out what mistakes they are making, they might improve. And I definitely don't want that. Let's just laugh amongst ourselves, and hush.

  11. Ya think that Mossberg 500 will jump back and hit that SWAT member in the face?
