Gotta let the duds sit, Primo

An Ontario man’s hand had to be amputated after he severely injured his arm while lighting an illegal firework Thursday night, police said.

About 7:40 p.m., officers were called out on a report of fireworks in the area of Sixth Street and Virginia Avenue, according to an Ontario Police Department news release.

When officers arrived, they found a male with a severely injured left arm — apparently caused by “delayed detonation from an aerial firework,” the release stated.

Fuck the details - an aerial firework in the article, a homemade dynamite stick in the video.

  1. With Black powder Artillery we would practice the following; In the event of a misfire the gun shall not be re-primed until a period of approximately eight minutes has elapsed. You can never be to careful.

  2. Losing a hand ain't nothin'. Here in Georgia when you mess up the fireworks they find your body in the morning.

  4. Went to jr high with a kid who blew off his hand stuffing match heads in a CO2 cartridge. That, and growing up with an uncle who lost a hand due to some unstable dynamite means I don't mess with anything more than'll fit in a 270 case. Life's unforgiving enough as it is.

  6. This was a July 4 celebration? Not Independence Day, because ours is not theirs.
