The Reprieve is Over

When I first joined the military in 1988, Communists were considered the primary threat/enemy, specifically, the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic. To a lesser extent, the Communist Chinese were also a threat, but after Nixon “made friends”, they weren’t really considered an “Issue”…..right?

Fast forward to today, and we are now experiencing a Communist insurgency in our own country being waged by multiple entities. We understand that all of them, no matter the overt, publicly stated ideology, are striving towards the same ends. I grew up reading Soldier of Fortune magazine in the late 70’s and 80’s. One of the main topics of articles there was Communist Insurgency. More specifically, Communist insurgencies in places like Central and South America and Africa.

  1. I will never understand how anyone can be such an idiot as to think that communism is a good idea. Capitalist free market economies have their faults, inequality being the main complaint from the lefties, but they simply work a million times better. This is simply beyond dispute unless your head is so far up your own arse that you can lick your own tonsils.

    1. I've heard this many times now but it's not really all that difficult to understand. Some people are indoctrinated in school. Some commies are true-believers. But the vast majority simply don't think, can't think, don't know how to think. Besides which, economic illiteracy is so rampant that relatively few people can actually define a capitalist free market economy.

  2. Saw this the other day. I think we are in the last days before open communist revolution. As opposed to the sift take over we have been afflicted with.

  3. He is right as far as he goes, but he does not want to face the facts that diversity always leads to violence and that in the coming meltdown in many places your skin will be your uniform.

    1. Lets hope not. The armed forces have been integrated for many decades and there are many good men of 'other' races with proven courage and skills. Let's not drive them into the enemy camp if it can be avoided.

I subscribed to and read SOF avidly; it was the only place I could get a counterpoint to the media story on El Salvadore and the Contras, I first and only read about the "Killing Fields" there and many other hot spots. Haven't heard anything about it in years, I wonder what happened to Robert K. Brown.

    2. "but he does not want to face the facts"

Maybe, but I don't think so. Now obviously I can't speak for JCD, but notice how he SHOWS but DOES NOT NAME in his piece? He's treading a very fine line here, because not only is this is his real name, but it's his business.

    3. John, I don't wish harm to anyone else. But we are past the Czechoslovakia peaceful separation. We are driving 100 mph at the Yugoslav style break up blocking the road in front of us. But what hits us will make that "war" look like a Sunday school picnic. We have way too many factions who will be fighting to control their square mile of turf.

  5. When i joined the military (in the mid 1970's) it was clear to us that the Soviet Union and worldwide communism was our opponent.

The US Navy was our enemy.

  6. Read the communist playbook that was read into the Congressional record back on Jan 10, 1963. They are almost at the end of their list

I have always said that America would go the way of Rhodesia an South Africa. The commies used race to over take those countries. Now it is happening here!
