2nd stimulus check: Where things stand on payments as August begins

Lawmakers reported progress on a huge coronavirus relief bill Saturday, as political pressure mounts to restore an expired $600-per-week supplemental unemployment benefit and send funding to help schools reopen.

“This was the longest meeting we’ve had and it was more productive than the other meetings,” said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who was part of the rare weekend session. “We’re not close yet, but it was a productive discussion — now each side knows where they’re at.”

  1. Schumer says it was productive, that means the Republicans are caving.

    1. Not really, Schumer is a criminal liar. He will say anything that suits his purpose and the drooling MSM will glorify it.

Trump said today if the Congress doesn't come up with something that is suitable, he will do it with an EO

  2. We received our first stimulus yesterday, it's welcome but when the inflation follows, it won't be as much fun.

    1. I still don't have mine.

A nephew just entered adulthood. He was recalled after being laid off. What with the $600 on top of UI, he was making a lot more staying home than going back to work. Guess what he did? Imagine the millions of others who decided like wise. Imagine that, people being paid to not go to work and those that are at work being taxed to death. Politicians must be put to death. Selling my country down the tubes should be a death penalty.

  4. My parents still haven't even received their FIRST check. I was first in line because I'm a jobless bum, but since they had a good combined income for 2018, they went to the back of the line. Been telling them the whole time, don't expect it until August.

The next check I get is either going to home repairs that everyone will use, or is going straight into preps. The last one went into my upstart business in the backyard. Profitable, but not enough to live off of yet.

When jobless bums get checks and working people don't, it encourages more people to become jobless bums.

  5. When I finally got the first one, I just sent it back to them to pay my taxes.

Feels like I got away with something.
