Portland mayor suddenly sees the light

Violent clashes this week between protesters and police in Portland, Oregon, have ratcheted up tensions in the city days after an agreement between state and federal officials appeared to bring calm.

More demonstrations were rallying Thursday night, hours after the city’s mayor decried the unrest that has roiled Portland since George Floyd was killed.

“You are not demonstrating, you are attempting to commit murder,” Mayor Ted Wheeler said Thursday in a hastily called news conference alongside Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell. Wheeler also warned that the city anticipated more “attacks on public buildings” in the immediate future.

Honestly, what sane person would want that job?

    1. In Oregon, the marxist fish-wrap Eugene Weekly comes out Thursdays.

During this phase of the Economic Lock-Down, the editors complained they rely on cash donations to keep blathering their every-Thursday nonsense.
Apparently, locked-down businesses see little point in advertising for non-existent customers.

      Today is Friday.
      Eugene Weekly dispensers are empty.

Sadly, marxist and advice columnist and pervert Dan Savage is losing his advice column income from marxist weeklies going TU ('toes-up'), causing the 'woke' crowd to look elsewhere for "should I pierce my soy-induced hemorrhoids?" advice from someone in the know.

  7. I guess all the Feds must have left town, then. Of course, they left because Wheeler demanded it be so. Poor lad, he forgot that this would leave him responsible for what happened next, nobody else to blame. Sucks to be a commie and stupid.

  8. The rioters are not "props for Trump's re-election".

They're evidence of what electing Biden will bring.

  9. There is major league and desperate gaslighting going on by the deep state these past few months. With the riots and Covid. The Leftists are scrambling to cover their mistakes and culpability. But as the saying goes you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

  10. The moment when Ted realized that the President's refusal to pay for the damage he sanctioned means he will have to pay for it out of his own allowance.
