What about white people wearing dreads? Does that count?

The House on Monday passed a bill that would ban discrimination that stems from race-based hairstyles.

The legislation, called the CROWN Act, would apply in part to situations in employment, housing and federally funded programs.

  1. When I could still smell things I dreaded close contact with the rastifarians who seemed to have an aversion to washing their dreds.

  3. At this point in time America has not yet learned to be multi-hairstyle. We are going to be part of the throes of that transformation which MUST take place. America is not going to be the monolithic wh... uh, um, society it was once in the last century. We are going to be at the center of that huge transformation for America to make; they are now going into a multi-hairstyle mode. And We are going to be resented because of Our leading role. But without that leading role, and without that transformation, America will not survive.

Also, white people wearing dreads is cultural appropriation. Duh. Black people using electricity, the internal combustion engine, AC electricity, air conditioning, antibiotics, the integrated circuit, GPS, calculus, germ theory of disease, an airplane, etc etc etc because it's really because of them anyway. Black slaves built this country, as all good-thinking people know. Double duh.

  4. Wow...I had no clue this was even an issue. Are people really upset by certain hairstyles? Or is it if they smell, have something living in the hair, or is dangerous? There's a guy who works at the local grocery store that always has about an 18 inch spikey mohawk that changes colors regularly, and I wonder just how 'pokey' it is.

  5. This'll another bill going down in flames in the Senate for which the Demonrats will blame the Republicans not "progressing" on social issues. In the meantime, Ms. Omar is busy harvesting ballots in WI.

    2. Don't worry about any of this. Animals who want to look like negroes or who are negroes with hair like that are NOT looking to work anywhere. They just want you to accept them as normal. Fuck that! Normal animals is what they are.

  12. Let's make this like the Norks, only about five "approved" hairstyles, and nobody gets to copy Deal Leader's style.

  13. Dreadlocks, cultural appropriation? Damn straight!

But … no African tribe traditionally wore dreads. None. Zero. Zilch (some try to pretend that the woven, braided hair of Masai, etc. are dreads, but they aren’t). Blacks started wearing them as a part of Rastafarianism. That would be the Rastafarianism that began in the 1930's.

White people though? Dreadlocks were common in in almost all cultures Viking, Christian Ascetics, Spartans, … going all the way back to the Minoans 3000 years ago (and probably beyond).

So? Who is appropriating whom (yet again) here?

‘Black culture’ doesn’t exist. They have appropriated everything (usually from/via their islamic owners – they got dreads from the islamic Dervishes). The only continent (or even small islands) that had no written language, mathematics, the ability to work metal or even developed the wheel are … Africa, American 'Indians' and Australian Aborigines. Blacks (and the laughably termed immigrant 'indigenous peoples' of North America) were stone age barbarians (and would be still if it wasn't for whites).

  14. "This bill prohibits discrimination based on a person's hair texture or hairstyle if that style or texture is commonly associated with a particular race or national origin." (from https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/5309?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%22crown+act%22%7D&s=1&r=2)

So I guess mullets aren't included.
