How cute - They're assuming we'll comply

Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s proposed gun control policy includes a provision that could require every AR-15 rifle be registered under the National Firearms Act of 1934. Unless there were some form of carve-out, this could mandate that American gun owners pay a $200 federal tax per AR-15 that they own. The National Rifle Association’s Andrew Arulanandam told Breitbart News that the current “low end” estimate of privately-owned AR-15s in the United States is 18 million. A tax of $200 on 18 million AR-15s means that gun owners could potentially be required to a pay a collective $3.6 billion in taxes, if this policy were enacted into legislation.

  1. It might - people pay all sorts of fees relating to guns all the time (concealed carry fees, etc.) Some would surely try to avoid it, but a lot likely wouldn't.

    1. If Biden becomes president we will all turn in our AR's. Barrel first, fully loaded, safety's off.

By the way every gun I own only has one safety... the trigger.

  2. Don't forget the $200 tax stamp on every 30 round magazine too. Lets just say that the "average" AR-15 owner has 10 mags. That turns it into a 36 billion dollar tax bill.

  5. The moment this new TAX gets approved the democrats will spend $36 extra on their pet projects EACH YEAR. And yes, for the left this math is correct.

  6. Depends on your definition of "Work".

Works fine for the Democrats if Biden (followed 24hours later by Harris) wins the Presidency. Makes owning a AR15 and not paying the tax a Federal crime. Giving the Democrats, now in control of the federal government, a perfect tool to use against those citizens that hate them the most.
    There will be 'selective enforcement'.

  10. Can you imagine what the Dems and general public would say if Trump suggested charging all citizens a retroactive $200 tax on their voter registrations? Or a $200 per user registration tax on internet service?

  11. Wow.

Step 1: condition a segment of the population to understand that government edicts are capricious, optional, and sometimes downright evil and dangerous to survival.

Step 2: Target that same segment with edicts like this one.

    What can go wrong?

  12. I’d rather they came out to help me with the form. Believe me, I’d much rather they came out to my compound with the 300’ driveway. Lots of them.

    1. Does your 300' driveway contain several 90-degree turns that place approaching vehicles parallel to weapons emplacements?

  14. I'm a little surprised ... not a soul who commented indicated how registration frequently leads to confiscation. We all know the intent of the left is created a violence-free utopian society where no.guns = no crime. Heh. We've seen how well that worked out in the past ... but I digress. It will be different this time.

  15. You know, I get the idea behind boating accidents and all that, but why? If they come to register them or take them that's when you SHOOT them. People always ask "how will I know when it's time", THAT is when it is time. If they send more, shoot them too. FFS, you with the 19 guns but I lost them in an accident guy, do you ever plan to use them against the tyranny to which you will be subjected?! May you live forever.

    1. And make no mistake, I do not claim to be some sort of high speed/low drag badass, but I'm damn confident I can take a few with me, at least on the first go round. If each one of us does that, then they run out of folks real damn quick. And we still make things easier for our loved ones, friends, etc. that we leave behind.

  16. Instead of worrying about what they might do, how about making sure they never get into the position where they can fuck around and find out?

  17. If this happens, it will be our own fault. Gun owners have allowed ever increasing gun control, through apathy. The real question now is, what to do? I agree that when they come to take your guns, it might be time to refuse, and to consider what your line in the sand is. It would only take a small number of people getting shot trying to confiscate guns, before their significant others will not allow them to go to work and do such a dangerous job. Whose wife would let them go to their job as a cop, if they thought that they might have to go to a gun owner's house and take their guns? Not very many, I would bet.
I would not like my family to be present during such a confrontation, but I am becoming more militant the older I get. The first thing to do is to vote, and to vote correctly.

  19. From the Biden website:

"The National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with ATF. Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes."

    Typical lib logic.
