Biden Promises No Nationwide Shutdown

Former Vice-President Joe Biden on Thursday said he would not implement a nationwide shutdown as part of his effort to combat the coronavirus.

“I’m not going to shut down the economy, period. I’m going to shut down the virus,” Biden said at a news conference in Wilmington, Delaware. “I’ll say it again. No national shutdown.”

    1. Puh-LEEZ. This is the maybe next president of the United States. You should show him all the due respect and deference the media and their Democrat colleagues showed Mr. Trump these past four years.

Show a little dignity, fer pete's sake.

  3. Someone must have convinced him that a President doesn't have that kind of authority, so he makes that announcement to show how "compassionate" he is.
    Asshole.

  9. You just watch.
The testing method will be altered (without admitting as such), and Biden will take credit for eliminating the spread.

Yeah, it's already shut down, so there's really no need to be redundant.

  12. That old fart can make all the promises he wants. But when KumStain Harris runs a 25th amendment on Biden and takes over, all his promises won't be worth dick.

  14. Not going to shut down the economy, only the virus. Brilliant thinking - why didn't anyone think of doing this earlier ? My confidence in our new president - elect grows with leaps and bounds ...

I don't wish harm on him ('cause Karma is a heartless bitch) but I don't have a good feeling about this one. I'm guessing Al Qaida will start their shit again because Trump didn't allow any shit from the Middle East, they are on Cloud 9 right now. Vibrant and colorful U.S. cabinet positions are 100% slam dunk guaranteed. So stylish and classy.

2021 looks to be quite a year and it not even here yet.

    1. I wonder if the MSM will take pictures several hours before the actual inauguration, and the post them with the wording that " this is the turnout for the Biden inauguration?" I mean, they did that to Trump, to make it look like he didn't have a crowd show up for his inauguration.
No,I bet that the media will use some photo shop program to fill in any open spot with people from the other parts of the picture, so it looks like the entire area is completely filled with jubilant people, just happy to finally get rid of a president who only saved the slowest economy on record, put the poorest people back to work, got African American men the lowest unemployment ratings in history, got females their highest pay in relation to males ever, while reducing their unemployment to one of it's lowest rates since WWII. Gave people hope again, got rid of the joke that was the Iran trade deal, that deliberately was not a treaty, since the Senate would have to vote on that, made our nation strong militarily again, got NATO countries to start to catch up with the money they owed to the organization, pretty much everything that Obama and Biden gave away, Trump got back and then some. So yeah,Biden's inauguration will be looked forward to by a bunch of unthinking morons who have no idea of just what it will mean to this country and our people.
One good thing that came from the first showing of the corona 19 virus,is that it showed my wife the importance of stockpiling non perishables. Just this morning, she said that everytime I went to the local Dollar General,I should pick up toilet paper and cleansing cloths.
I said to her that a can of soup would keep pretty much forever, as well, and she said, pick that up, too. I read to her about the governor of New Mexico shutting down some grocery stores, which is how we got onto the subject. I have been stocking up,for a long time, and my 24 year old daughter especially gets mad since she has to help put things away. I of course, jump down her throat, and my wife doesn't like it.But just like I finally got my wife to understand,if our local stores get shutdown, or the supply chain is down due to a diesel fuel problem,or a major highway shutdown due to an act of God,such as an earthquake, that shuts down a heavily traveled road like I 94, or one of the major trucking routes headed into Michigan, and we are cut off for 2-3 weeks, the stores shelves will be empty by the middle of the 2nd week. So we need to have enough food to last us awhile. It doesn't have to be a great variety, but it does have to be calorie dense and nutritious. And of course, food that we are used to.
