  1. I have a friend, that is an older lady, who is a surviver of the bomb at Hiroshima.

  2. I've read about this gentleman years ago. If I recall correctly he was an engineer for Mitsubishi who was sent to Hiroshima to solve a technical problem at one of their factories there.

The caption is misleading, it implies that Nagasaki was bombed the day after Hiroshima. The dates were the 6th and 9th of August.

  3. Al_in_Ottawa, Others,

This fine gentleman became known as Mr. Lucky, aka Tsutomu Yamaguchi. He is one of a handful of people to have survived both nuclear bombings, and is believed to be the only man to have survived both. Few years ago I read an account of bomb survivors, written from the perspective of being near ground zero. Mr. Lucky is mentioned in the book although the title escapes my memory.

  4. I knew a gentleman named Tommy Tamaguchi that survived Hiroshima as a child. He emigrated to the States after being taken in and cared for by the occupation troops, was adopted by an American family and grew up to be one of the finest Patriots and the most gentle man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He lived here in Modesto and he spoke at our church and told his story.
He recently died, maybe 2-3 years ago. I read his obituary in the paper. The world lost a truly great man.
