My Boy Scout career

1973-74 - Scout
1975 - Tenderfoot
1975 - Kicked out

Yup, 2 years as a private in the Boy Scouts, 1 year as a PFC and then drummed out for a variety of offenses. I think I was the only Boy Scout in their entire history that didn't earn a single fucking merit badge in 3 years.
No ambition whatsoever, man. I was only there for the partying. Troop 166 was glad to be shut of me.

  3. I was a hard core Webelos, Arrow of Light and the whole thing. Went into Boy Scouts in 1974, got 3 merit badges, 6 of the belt loop thingies, and never made Tenderfoot in 2 years. I can relate.

  4. Our whole troop never progressed in the 3 years I went there. They finally brought in an eagle scout to straighten us out. He taught us to stand at attention and formation and marching and all that stuff the first meeting he came to. At the next meeting I went and peeked in from the doorway and the only ones there were the scoutmaster, his son, and the eagle scout. I never went back and neither did anyone else

  5. I was in the Baadddest troop in the Willamette Valley. I got to First Class and Rowing and canoeing Merit badges. We went camping every month, no matter what. All I wanted to do was go fishing. Went to Philmont Scout Ranch in NE NM. After 5 years, there wasn't much more to do. Besides, motocross girls had me distracted.
