Cuomo Ups Ante With New NY Emergency Order

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is upping the ante on the state's quarantine advisory, now requiring travelers from hotspot states to submit a form with their contact information and where they'll spend their 14-day isolation.

Failure to submit that form may result in a $2,000 fine; violators may also be summoned for a hearing and subject to mandatory quarantine; the requirements now apply to travelers from 22 hotspot states.

Cuomo announced the new state health emergency order Monday, saying noncompliance from out-of-state travelers was contributing to new COVID clusters in New York; that compounds the compliance problem locally.

  7. Cuomo pounds another nail in NYFC's coffin. Who the hell would want to go there anyway? People with any means are bailing by the droves.

    1. Same here. Other than Kentucky, I don't see a lot of out of state plates but New York seems to make up a large number of the ones I do see.

  9. Cuomo reminds me of Chico Marx. Chico was a fast talker but in real life could never keep his life in balance. Constantly in debt and needing bailouts from his brothers (Cuomo asking for federal relief) Chico kept selling the same bullshit to who ever would listen but he lacked the ability in both intelligence and self control to keep his life viable.

Cuomo has the same problems. He proffers his talking points and when no one buys them, blames this entity or that group of citizens in his state (remember when he told us gun lovers to leave?)for whatever disaster he has created. He has not balanced a budget nor not increased taxes and user fees (bailouts of his mismanagement) since he came into office.

This would be funny if it were a Marx brothers movie but it is not, unfortunately. It is real life and real New York citizens are being hurt by his inept leadership. People died due to his incompetence. If it were a functionary in the government they would have been brought up on charges of manslaughter but since it is an anointed political scion of 'Mario the Pious' (Cuomo's daddy) no such charges will be made and Andy will never have to face his peers (God Forbid!!) and answer for his stupidity.

He remains in office due to the vote gathering machinery of the democratic party in NYC metro region with the upstate citizens unable to vote him out of office. Only when Cuomo offends his democrat peers or embarrasses them to such an extent that they cannot tolerate it anymore will he be voted out of office.
