FOUR??? Only Four?

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee is one of four governors nationwide who have endorsed a proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution to limit the number of U.S. Supreme Court justices to the current count of nine.

The proposed amendment states: “The Supreme Court of the United States shall be composed of nine Justices.”

  1. You can’t be possibly so stupid to think an answer to our issues lie in a constitutional convention. Dear god you are some dumb cocksuckers.

    1. Amen. The politicians would have a field day changing the Constitution , giving them the power over the People , instead of the people having power over them.

    3. Matthew, that's what happened last time, when they gathered to tweak the Articles of Confederation a little.

Uh, hate to burst your bubble, but they've already done that. Marbury vs. Madison/McCullough v. Maryland was a long, long time ago, and that was just the start.

  2. An amendment does not require a Constitutional Convention. While they’re at it, whip up one on term limits.

    1. You are correct. But if you shout loud enough, the wrong information, and do it long enough, people will believe you.
It seems that the only dumb cocksucker here is the one who doesn't understand the U.S. Constitution. I give you a link that will allow you to get a copy of your own, for free.http://lp.hillsdale.edu/free-pocket-constitution/

    2. What a "Constitutional Convention" does is give the states the power over the legislature on issues like term limits....I have always wondered why that issue was never addressed in that way....could it be because those voting are future representatives and senators?....hmmmm....never let a good law get in the way of honest self-interest....

  3. Yah, this is going NO WHERE. Does anyone REALLY think that, given the makeup of the current CONgress, this bill would be passed through committee, never mind reach the floor of either House for a vote, then be ratified by 2/3rds of the states?

This guy from MN is just trying ensure his re-election by proposing something that he KNOWS will NEVER get passed, so that he can claim "I tried".

    1. I'm getting a little tired of the "Oooh! We almost had it! Send me back and we'll try again next year" game.

  4. The court should be cut back to Five Justices. Court Packing is how it got to 9.
