Smith & Wesson Moving From Springfield MA To Tennessee, Citing Proposed Massachusetts Gun Laws
BOSTON (CBS) – Smith & Wesson, one of the oldest gun manufacturers in the country, announced Thursday it is moving operations from Springfield to Tennessee due to proposed gun laws in Massachusetts.
Yeah, they're moving one county over from me, Blount County. Good loyal and able workforce over there and a gun friendly state. I was kidding my nephew about this, told him I was going to go dumpster diving behind their factory at nights, looking for "scratch and dent" parts. Anyway, I hope they find the move profitable for them.
Sevier County, here. I'm hoping that there will be a local discount, like a lot of local businesses do at Pigeon Forge. Maybe they'll open up a pad at one of the factory discount malls. I can't wait.
Good, in my opinion all firearms manufacturer in gun control states should move out to a state that at the very least understand the constitution and the reasons why the 2nd amendment is so important and necessary. JD
They could have moved north into New Hampshire. Gun friendly (constitutional carry, other gun manufacturers - Sig Sauer, Baretta, Strum-Ruger, Thompson Center Arms, just to name a few), no income or sales taxes. Plenty of commercial real estate available, either existing buildings or land for building new facilities.
Yeah, there are some negatives, but I don't know of any state that doesn't have some negatives.
Tennessee has Constitutional Carry, no state income tax, lots of land available for development and has much better winters than New Hampshire. It is more centrally located and has several interstate highways running north to south and east to west. Also cost of living in most parts of Tn, especially eastern Tn, is very reasonable compared to other states. JD
It's not going to end with the gun mfgs finally waking up and moving out of democommie run states. Practically every business eventually will succumb to the overregulation and high taxes and move. Leaving those states in a real bind, all outgo and no income. The printing presses are going to be very very busy making more and more fake money. The barter and cash exchange portion of the economy is going to grow exponentially.
The hilarity of it all is that the politicians up here just can't understand why Smith and Wesson would move their vegetable oil processing plants to some other state. Oh, wait... And this is the big reason this guy is soon to be departing Massachusetts as well. Good luck, S & W.
Soooo, the genuflecting they've been doing with clinton mindset isn't paying off for them??? hey TN, you can take them out of Mass, but can you take the Mass out of them? Methinks not.

DeleteI like seeing businesses leave blue states for red states. I try to also refrain from buying products made in blue states - hope they all fail.
