Wait..... WHAT???

A sword-wielding man dressed as a ninja attacked several special operations soldiers who were training at a California airport, reportedly forcing them to shelter in a hangar and inflicting wounds that required stitches.

The bizarre assault took place at Inyokern Airport, an airfield in the Mojave Desert about 100 miles north of Los Angeles, sometime after 1 a.m. on Sept. 18, according to what appears to be a military incident report shared on Instagram and Reddit.

  1. Special ops, huh. Guess they never watched Indiana Jones to see how a person with a gun deals with one with a sword. If the Canadians ever decide to invade, we're in big trouble!

  2. Not the first report of military being unarmed and under attack.
Is it just me or is that just stupid?

  3. I thought we learned our lesson from having unarmed soldiers when a suicide bomber drove a truck through the gates of the Marine barracks in Lebanon and killed several hundred. They couldn’t stop him because ther were orders from the top to keep the rifles unloaded.

    2. i think "unknown" is part of that group that thinks ANY person (past, present, or future) that ever received any kind of income from any form of gov't MUST be some category of "welfare" but i don't want to speak for him/her/it/they/etc(?) although further replies appear unlikely? Thus, he only connection is that members of the military receive their paychecks from DFAS.

It appears "unknown" has returned to underneath the stone from under which originally was located??

  5. I was surprised when I recently went on a joint branches base that the guard did not have a sidearm. He did have a biometric device though. They did have a steel barrier a couple hundred feet in that would come up out of the road.

  8. Even though they are helicopter pilots and support staff, this should not have been able to happen. No armed security for spec ops equipment at an off base airport? WTF?

  9. 30 minutes between 911 calls WITH NO RESPONSE in between. I guess the cops were busy getting their lunchtime donut fix.

  10. Back when I was in you couldn't bring anything to NTC except the usual .mil garb. They flew us from Hood to Vegas on a commercial flight then bussed us to Erwin on greyhound. Had to pick up our trucks in 29Palms and convoy back. They only issued blanks for our A2's w/ MILES gear (laser tag for grown-ups). If ya ever went there you'd understand the response time for the local yolks, it is smack dab in the middle of BFE! Nothing for miles except coyotes and endangered turtles. Not sure about the MPs though, seems like they would have been somewhere close unless they were asleep somewhere dreaming about their pronouns. They should have taken off the blank adapter and used cleaning rods and the blanks to arm themselves! Lol.

    1. Not at Irwin, just off 395 in Inyokern, used to be near China Lake NWC. About 40 miles from Irwin if you come in from the Barstow side. There used to be nothing nearby when I lived out there in the 70's

    2. I’d forgotten about the endangered turtles. NTC is a weird place. My brother-in-law was stationed there for 3 years and said it almost drove him crazy.

  12. 'one whack-job against several Special Op soldiers'?
    .
    My first thought:
    Inside job.
    .
    My second thought:
Probably was not taliban... they would send two hundred whacks with swords.

Upon further, it seems the area is home to The Musical Saws Players Organization.
    Mystery solved!
