Oughta work

Nashville Metro Police Department (MNPD) announced they would be offering a “Safe Surrender” event on December 10 and 11 for people with outstanding warrants to turn themselves in as “a special one-time opportunity toward a second chance.”

The MNPD said for those who are willing to take responsibility for their actions may attend the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church on 2021 Herman St. where they will be able to receive favorable consideration and could be able to go home the same day.

  1. Looks like they held one six years ago and 86 people took advantage of the program. Sometimes it's as simple as an unpaid traffic ticket.

Way back, when I was young and dumb, I "forgot" to pay a $25 ticket for unsafe driving.( Had an extension ladder sticking out of the back of my truck more than three feet with no flagging on the end of it.)

Several months later, got caught in a road check, arrested and taken to jail, as well as my vehicle impounded, just because of the unpaid ticket. Ended up costing me a fine of $135 (or a week in jail), plus the impoundment fee to get my truck back.

    1. Sounds like state-sanctioned extortion through the use of violence for a non-crime; a non-crime being a fictitious fiat crime with no victim.

    1. No, he's a noble who killed well, not a peasant, but a lesser noble. That is merely something that is frowned upon.
