Let's see... 6 plus 23 is.....

HOUSTON - A Tomball man gets additional prison sentence after attacking a bailiff just moments after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography. 

Jonathan Carriere was sentenced to 23 years in prison on Thursday for the attack, according to Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. "This man viciously attacked an officer solely because she was doing her job, and we have held him accountable," Ogg said.

    23 yrs for attacking a bailiff.
    20 yrs for making shives in jail.
    Only six yrs for child porn.

    That's severely messed up. It looks like just-us places a higher value on protecting their own than on children. This is especially disturbing considering the abysmal recidivism of child molesters.

    Texas has the right idea. Give these shitbags real time for their crimes, unlike here in New York. In New York (under state, not federal, prosecution) he would have gotten 6 years probation with another 6 years probation added for the assault to be dispensed concurrently and dismissal of the shiv charge for pleading guilty to the assault.
