  5. I wish I had known about #3 back when I was younger and had a ski boat with a skurfer board. Of course, doing what is shown in #3 would have required having a friend with another boat that created a large wake too.

  6. Good Collection. Hope the gunshot to the face in #8 was all make up but pretty cool otherwise.

  8. #3 - we had what we called the gravel pit lakes just outside of town. A really small quarry filled with water, alligators, snakes and gar. The "lake" was just about big enough to do a lopsided figure 8 with the boat at speed - you never really had enough room to straighten up. You could get maybe 2 or 3 boats going at one time, everyone else had to wait. So once we were up to go, my buddy got on the skis and I hit the throttle and away we went. He kept waving to go faster, so full stop on throttle, boat in constant turn to keep it in the water. He decided to act cool for the girls and swing out wide - which put him in about a 1/4 inch of water. The skis stuck in the mud and he flipped, tumbled, rolled, and bounced about 75 feet before stopping. Real cool, I'm sure the girls enjoyed it. Meanwhile with no skier we lost our spot and had to coast over to the side and get back in line. We might have been drinking, all of 15 years old at the time.

  9. #6 - Just what part of "unbalanced load" do sooooo many gym members fail to grasp? Younger son's friend did precisely this in my fully tricked out free weight home gym a few years back, tearing a nasty gash in the carpeted basement floor. A pair of 45's on one side and none at all on the other will do that, especially when you are too stupid to engage the safety catches before readjusting the load. Too bad it did not catch him on the chin on the way up. That might have been a "teachable moment".

    1. No, that would've been a "pray the parents of the dead kid aren't litigious" moment. Because it would have killed him if it hit him on the chin "on the way up".
