Hanson's smart and he's correct, but he conveniently forgot to mention it's gonna happen because all the politicians, their bureaucrat lackies, cops, high ranking military, educators, and medica professionals actually think they'll be immune from the great annihilation of the American proletarian masses. Think there'll be an armed resistance?
There is a philosophy that underlies all of this madness. It is called "moral relativism" and I've been railing against it for 20 years. It appeared in American in the 1960s and sprang to full flower in the 1970s. The idea was that there is no such thing as absolute truth, only viewpoint. In the late 20th century, it became the trump card of arguments - "that's just your viewpoint". Years later, it became "living my truth". Now, it is license to do anything or believe anything, no matter how obviously asinine. Gender Studies and all the attendant dreck comes quickly to mind. I have dealt with people who use that flimsy trump card by asking them to accompany me to the roof of my house so that they may have an argument with gravity. When society can agree that there are absolute truths, then laws can be created and punishments enforced for breaking those laws. I believe that it has been true forever that people behave properly because a civilization erects guard rails that enforce either explicitly or implicitly, proper behavior. Those guard rails are gone and wide swaths of America have run amuck.
