    1. Yeah, those airbags are f'n dangerous. And heaven help you if you're a small! IMHO anyone under 100lbs is in MUCH more danger of being injured by the airbag than by the accident!

Most of the airbag mania that's seized our legislature over the past 30 years is due to dipshits who don't wear their seatbelts. Yes, if you're not wearing a seatbelt, having an airbag drastically reduces injuries and saves lives. If you ARE always wearing a seatbelt, the studies aren't nearly as clear. Sometimes it help, sometimes it hurts, and sometimes they cause the accident in the first place. (i.e. you tagged a road hazard, the airbags deployed, and caused you to lose control of the vehicle.)

    2. #6 maybe even worse than if the airbag goes off is what if the vehicle brakes hard or even runs into something and stops from some speed? the body getting forced forward and the legs up past your face makes me cringe thinking about what's going on w the skeleton there

    4. A friend's daughter had her arm broken by the airbag. She was trying to avoid the accident so her arm was across the steering wheel at impact and was propelled into her face by the airbag. The owner's manual for my Mercedes recommends placing your hands at 4 and 8 o'clock with the palms up to avoid injury.

  2. #6 ~ If you look up x-rays of people who ride with their feet on the dash you would never do it. Riding with your feet propped against the dash can result in one or more broken/dislodged hips, not to mention damage to ankles and femurs, and can include spine injuries.

    1. Ain't the first broken panel, either. One in the background is busted.

  4. #9 perfectly mirrors all of my experiences with "ball pit" type things.

  5. Wife used to do that. Nagged her about it. Our Kid found nice X-rays of the actual aftermath of “feet on the dashboard, airbag goes off “. She doesn’t do that anymore

  6. Or young women generally. I've seen the results in the Emergency Department many times, never pretty. Usually not traumatic amputation but bilateral femur fractures and patella dislocations, to go with the fib/tib fractures.

  7. #4 At least they are being resourceful. I recon that if you could strip the tyre off, clean up the area around the hole and stick gaffer tape on the inside, it might hold long enough to get you home or to the nearest tyre shop.

  8. Another thing to remember with #6 is to never put your hands out to brace yourself against the dash when riding in the front passenger seat. If the airbag goes off it will seriously mess up your hands.

  9. #4 Ok, I get the ladies are attempting to patch a tire with duck-tape (bless their hearts), but is she being peed on!? Please be a water bottle.

#4 - One of the few things Duct Tape won't fix. BTW, did you know that it really was originally called Duck Tape???

    1. It looks like a rebar recycling machine, doesn't it?

      Whatever it is, it's awesome.

    2. A rebar recycler?

And not a single comment on the final drive gif (#3). I'm surprised at that.
