The NYPD said a 71-year-old man was fatally stabbed Tuesday night in the Hell's Kitchen section of Midtown Manhattan, and a 78-year-old man is now in custody.
Years ago that was Irish. The Irish Mafia was real strong in the kitchen. Today I guess not so much. I've heard it has a big queer population now. Also, lots of mexician and asians.
Surprised they used the term 'Hell's Kitchen.' The politically correct term is 'Clinton.' My mom was a little Irish mug from 9th and 54th back in the 1920s. For several years she was sent to my sainted grandma in York, PA (thru her church) by the Fresh Air Fund to get away from the NY summers. She was at some point abandoned by her mother and ended up adopted by grandma.
I still contribute to Fresh Air Fund every year. Without them I wouldn't be here.
Saigon, when I was a kid I lived in the Adirondack Mts. Lots of different kid camps and groups used to come there in the summers. It seems Fresh Air Fund was one of them. They camped did canoeing or were at several of the beaches. Us local kids got along very well with them. At the bigger camps our Little League team would go down and play them. It was a good time. Good kids.
I had a great grandfather that got into a fist fight over a game of chess, while living in an old folks home. The other guy tried to cheat and wound up with a pummeled face eating grass for his efforts. I am happy to report, I'm just as feisty as he was. Thanks Grandpa!
