Americans Skipping Meals to Afford Housing Under Biden: Poll

A major real estate company released a survey on Friday which found that renters and homeowners are significantly reducing their quality of life to afford housing under President Joe Biden.

Nearly one in five homeowners and renters reported skipping meals to afford housing in Biden’s economy, according to a new survey conducted by Redfin. The median asking rental price increased from less than $1,700 when Biden took office in January 2021 to nearly $2,000 as of February, according to Redfin’s data.

  1. I'm not skipping meals, but I AM foregoing eating out, and that includes fast "food." There's also the "If it's not on sale, it's staying in the store" attitude I've had to take when purchasing meats.

...I have a good-paying job and a military retirement check... I don't see how others are staying afloat, honestly... Actually, I have two grown sons living under my roof right now because they can't afford to rent and they can't afford to buy. ...Thanks, Traitor Joe...

    1. I am right there with you on the Mil retirement but I am also drawing Social Security. I used to take the wife out for lunch 3 times a week. It would be an inexpensive non-fast food restaurant but we were dropping $50 to $65 a meal that we could make at home for $10 or less. Eighty percent lean hamburger was $3.45 at the commissary. I also scored 2 Porterhouse steaks that weighed 1.8 lbs in the discount meat freezer for $15, one is a meal with leftovers for me and my wife.

  3. I haven't eaten fast food in decades. Rarely dine out cuz the foods better at home. We shop for sales too. Plus in older age man do I eat less. I couldn't eat a whole steak if I wanted to. When steak is on sale we buy two and cut them in half. Two steaks are two meals for the two of us.

  4. I live in Ft. Lauderdale. I have 2 pensions I'm collecting SS as is my wife. I've invested moderately wisely. Between homeowners insurance car insurance (no tickets in the last 20 years) and taxes inflation is just another straw on the camels back.

  5. Biden saw the statistics that 40% of Americans are obese and they suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure directly related to that so he's just has their interests at heart when his policy lowers their food consumption..

  7. Not trying to defend Brandon at all, however, I know several Americans that could do with skipping a few meals.
