Simpson County has a rich history of dueling at the Sandford Duncan Inn landmark

FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO) - Just over the border of Tennessee, located in Franklin, is the Sandford Duncan Inn, which is thought to have been standing since 1818.

Back then, the Inn would draw business from travelers passing through the area, as well as men from Kentucky and Tennessee who were settling their differences by dueling.

I've driven past this place I don't know how many times on my way to Franklin KY from Portland TN.
Nothing stands out about it. The video from the inside shows it was a log structure, but now there's vinyl siding on the outside.
I've been past there every day of the week at various times, even stopping off to check it out on several occasions and I've never seen it open. The only people I've ever seen there was a work crew from the county jail doing landscaping work.
