Putting that degree to work

A Wisconsin software engineer used an artificial intelligence program to create thousands of “hyper-realistic” images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual activity, according to investigators who allege that the accused man shared some of the photos with a 15-year-old boy.

    1. It won't. Matter of fact it'll be the dominant critical thinking "species" on the planet by 2100. The genie's out of the bottle and it ain't going back. H.A.L. showed us that 55 years ago.

  2. AI isn't. It is programed to "think" whatever it's programmers are paid to make it "think". Fucking prove me wrong. Bullshit in - bullshit out, just like far too many humans these days. Of course I could be wrong with the 'these days" part. I gave the human race far too much credit in my youth. Eod1sg Ret

  3. The issue here that's not being mentioned is when, not if, AI becomes sentient. If it hasn't happened already(Pentagon funded black site programs)it's not far from fruition and nothing is going to stop it regardless of whoever is in the White House.

    1. Sentient is a funny thing. Think of all the philosophies you know or where taught in school and then think of all the ones you don't know or never heard of. Think of all the people of the world who have adopted various philosophies and the reasons and circumstances for doing so. A machine cannot be "taught" anything. It can only be fed information. It can only base it's "choices" on the available information. Just leave out information you find distasteful to your present situation and that machine will never be truly sentient. And you don't even have to leave out what you don't like, you'll certainly leave out what you are unaware of.
