NY judge hands former NRA head Wayne LaPierre a 10 year ban but declines to appoint monitor

A New York judge on Monday banned Wayne LaPierre, the former head of the National Rifle Association, from holding a paid position with the organization for a decade, but declined to appoint an independent monitor to oversee the gun rights group.

  1. Does anyone care? As a Life member of the NRA, I think LaPierre has had more than enough time at the trough. His time in office has not brought honor or distinction to the NRA. I no longer financially support them; there are far better gun rights outfits worthy of backing.

  2. NRA as in, "Not Responsive Anymore". Its been years since that group came close to Gun Owners of America in terms of effectiveness.

  7. LaPierre did more to hurt the Second Amendment than he ever did to save it. He sold out the Rank and File~~you and me~~for personal greed and power. He was the ultimate traitor to the NRA and was the sole reason for its demise. Your hard-earned dues and donations built a headquarters building complex that rivaled the largest luxury hotel complexes, and funded extravagant salaries. The vast majority of the Board were in his pocket, or were at the very least too cowardly to make a stand for what's right. And we~~the Rank and File~~were too loyally blind to acknowledge what was so glaringly obvious. Shame on us.

  8. Can't say there's been any love lost for LaPierre, but since when does a judge get to make that kind of a call?
