A good enough reason to throw a party if I ever saw one

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A well-known Kentucky bourbon distillery is celebrating a huge milestone. Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort has filled its nine millionth barrel of bourbon since Prohibition.

  1. I haven't ingested whiskey in years due to stomach problems which were probably caused by my over imbibing in my youth, but I'm glad to see and raise a glass of sweet tea in saluting a good solid old American industry member turning out a great product.

  2. Dunno who can drink that foul swill. Every one I've ever tried has been nasty, and I like brown likker!

    1. Bourbon in general or just Buffalo Trace, ya ignorant heathen?

    3. Larceny and Four Roses are my favorite bourbons, hands down.

    4. Just turned 80, don't hardly drink any more. I was musing at the shelves in a local upper-end grocery store and noticed two grades of Pappy Van Winkle whiskey up on a high shelf.

Only one of them was less than a grand. Wasted on me, but it's good to know somebody thinks his product's worth that much.

    5. Bourbon, scotch, rye, its all good! Buffalo Trace tastes like they ran some water through what they swept off the barn floor! Its shit! Get some Chattanooga Whiskey, or a single malt. Your taste buds will thank you.

    6. I don't know. I've tried to like bourbon and it all tastes like kerosene to me. Tullamore D.E.W. Irish . . . "The morning dew from the nipples of angels."

  3. Buffalo Trace? Too much good stuff out there to waste my time trying to find over-hyped and over-priced BT products. I won't pay $100 for a $30 bottle. Give me Evan Williams BIB, Elijah Craig Cask Str, Knob Creek 12 year, Pikesville Rye, Maker's Cask Str, the Maker's 46 line, and the entire Old Forester line. Special occasion? Break out the Henry McKenna 10yr BIB or the Bookers.

    1. I don't buy their high-end shit either. Matter of fact, I don't buy anybody's high-end shit.

    2. If a 55 gallon barrel, that's 495 million gallons.

    3. A quick search says the barrels are 53 gallons. I thought they were smaller.

  6. Never tried it but I drank my share of bourbon I guess. Wild Turkey 101 was my favorite as I didn’t do high end stuff either. Johnny Walker Black was awesome too but I had to give it up or die. I’m convinced I made the right choice. Thanks AA. Yeah, I’m a quitter. ET
