All I want out of this marriage is what I brought into it

In 2001, Dr. Richard Batista gave his wife the ultimate gift: his own kidney in a transplant operation that saved her life. Four years later, she wanted a divorce, so he wanted his kidney back. The court, obviously, didn’t like it.

  1. Well there's lots I could say but I'll just leave it with this;
    When it comes to most wives no good deeds goes unpunished and all divorce courts are a scam.

    1. Men haven't been safe since the 30s when divorce was weaponized.

  2. Was renal possession identified and listed in the prenup? If not doc, you can try referring it to the local repo man!

  3. He screwed himself. By asking for the kidney, he became suspect #1 when she is found in a hotel room in an ice bath.

  4. He could tell the next man she marries when you screw her yer knee deep in my kidney, boy. Seems that would take the sparkle outta sex with her.

  5. I'm confused as to why there was a new article 16 years after the last action in the case. There didn't appear to be any new information provided. There seem to be a slew of new articles rehashing the same stuff. Guys gives his wife of 11 years a kidney and saves her life and thinks he's saving the marriage. A few months/years later, she starts (returns to?) sleeping around then she files for divorce. Proceedings draw out and he eventually, 4 years later, counterclaims to get the kidney (or $1.5M). After another 4 years, the courts rule that organ donations have a no return clause and no monetary value.
    None of the articles I read said anything about appeals or any new activity, so why the sudden interest? Was she found in a hotel room in an ice bath, as Rick suggested?
