SAN DIEGO -- The Mexican government says a man who U.S. authorities shot with a stun gun at a San Diego border crossing is unconscious and in serious condition.

Border Patrol spokesman Daryl Reed says the man was taken to a San Diego-area hospital Friday night at the San Ysidro border crossing separating San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. Reed says the man had become combative.
