Nothing like confidence in your troops

Less than a week after a US staff sergeant allegedly massacred 16 civilians in Kandahar, American soldiers were banned from bringing guns into a talk by Mr Panetta at a base in Helmand province.
Around 200 troops who had gathered in a tent at Camp Leatherneck were told "something had come to light" and asked abruptly to file outside and lay down their automatic rifles and 9mm pistols.
"Somebody got itchy, that's all I've got to say. Somebody got itchy – we just adjust," said the sergeant who was told to clear the hall of weapons.

*****

Fucking asshole. He's hated so much by the troops that they aren't allowed around him with weapons. If he wasn't a politician, he might just take the hint.

  1. Time....for 1 of 2 things.....either a new Secretary of Defense or a new military.
    My guess is the former.

  2. It's too fucking bad that the Marines probably had orders to attend (or else), but then, was told to disarm???!!!The motherfucker must have a guilt complex and was worried about gettin whacked. Who gives a fat babys dick if the afghan soldiers were unarmed,or how they felt?? That just shows you how chickenshit paranoid these politicians are. They should have armed the afghan soldiers and locked his scummy ass in there with
    them.

  4. Panetta's thinking back to Vietnam, where fragging of unpopular officers is rumored to have occurred...

  5. Ok, ok, so Panetta got nervous...well, he probably has good reason. I doubt a career spook like him would trust any member of our Military. By the way, can anyone tell me exactly how ol' Leon deserves to wear an Airborne jacket like that one? I don't think he earned it, so did he forget to pack his jammies and had to borrow a real man's jacket?

  6. I seem to recall Clinton had the same policy when he visited troops over in Kosovo area. Funny how that works.
