I'm gonna guess this was an inside job

HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. (KTLA/CNN) - Police in California are investigating after a man who had just withdrawn his life savings from the bank was brutally beaten and robbed in an attack that was caught on camera.

Following the recent sale of his home, Francisco Cornejo took $200,000 out from Chase Bank on July 30 in Huntington Park, California. As he left the location and headed to his car, an unknown assailant attacked him then grabbed his satchel and ran away.

“Within 30 seconds of just getting to his car, he was grabbed, beaten, robbed, and they took everything from him,” said Cornejo’s attorney, Nathan Soleimani.

  1. I agree, it would have to be an inside job and therefore it should be pretty easy to figure out who by reviewing the cameras inside the bank to see who quickly made a phone call while the transaction was taking place. Can't tell for sure but the perp looks like a dindu nuffin as I think that he was showing his underwear.

    1. Sounds like what happened daily in Buenos Aires in the 2001 meltdown. Bank tellers were working with the thieves who would ride up on a motor bike and steal the handbag of cash.

  3. Why take the 200K in cash? Lots of safer ways to carry it.

    1. Because banks in El Salvador can't honor a $200K check?

  4. Not only why not take a cashiers check, but why not be armed, carrying 200 grand?
Something is definitely fishy here, and the victim could be part of it.
    Drug deal $$$?

  5. Armed, an ordinary citizen, in California? Never happen, and if vic had been armed, and had shot the robber, he would have been arrested, and his money siezed as a civil forfieture.
