10 Best Ways to Defend Yourself Against Civil Unrest

Civil unrest on a national level—protests, riots, looting and unprecedented street violence—have sadly become part of our American landscape. With a decline in police intervention and the fact that extreme physical violence can spontaneously erupt anywhere, it should make you ponder what can be done to stay safe.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a young female, elderly male or even a public official; given the current state of affairs, there’s a higher-than-normal chance of physical assault should you find yourself confronted by an aggressive attacker at any number of hot spots. Incidents of bystanders being physically assaulted have escalated to the point where it has caused genuine concern.

  1. Of course number one rule is to not be where unrests, riots, are occurring. Barring that, get your nose out of the phone and look around your surroundings, keep your cool and get out of the area asap. Don't argue or fight unless there's no option, if forced to fight do absolutely anything you have to get out.
Code 3 yellow alert is the minimum condition you should have when out in public.

    1. Yup.

      Stay away from crowds.
It used to be especially crowds of Black people, but now half the violent crowd is whites.....So all crowds.
Don't walk into a crowd...even if it means you gotta wait a while inside a restaurant or store or office.

Don't drive into a crowd. even if that means you gotta back up or turn around.

  2. Don't be the last one acting civil or you'll be the first casualty.

    1. Always consult the 70 Maxims of Maximally Effective Mercenaries

Maxim 6: "If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it."

Maxim 12: "A soft answer turneth away wrath. Once wrath is looking the other way, shoot it in the head."

      Maxim 13: "Do unto others."

Maxim 27: "Don't be afraid to be the first to resort to violence."

Maxim 30: "A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go."

Maxim 37: "There is no "overkill." There is only "open fire" and "reload.""

Maxim 54: "The best way to win a one-on-one fight is to be the third to arrive."

Maxim 59: "Two wrongs is probably not going to be enough."

And, of course, Maxim 16: "Your name is in the mouth of others: be sure it has teeth."

  4. So glad I am moving to the sticks in 2 weeks. Town of 200 people and we will be only one of 8 families in the valley where we will be living in South Eastern Missouri. Population is 98.6% white. I am sure there will be no BLM protests there. But I will be still strapped at all times.

  5. Avoiding/responding to violent attack by the loony left is the easier part of the equation. Preventing the quisling cops, DA's and judges from locking you up forever
for defending yourself is the REAL problem.

    1. Right there is a new problem. So many of our elected officials have ordered their local LEO to allow 'protest' to commit crimes and not do a thing. And anyone who attempts to protect their residence or business from harm is seen as the criminal. It won't be long until insurers decide 'We're OUT !' and won't pay out any more.

Anon 6:09 below makes a point good, but the money it will cost you to pay for your lawyer to clear you will be nearly as expensive as losing/replacing the property in the 1st place. That is really shitty.

Stupid young adults getting their rocks off to 'stick it to the man'. You haven't lived long enough to really have Life fuck with you.

    2. If you get in to that situation, figure that is in the back of your head. That turns a simple self-defense position into "A man with nothing left to lose".

A man with nothing left to lose is truly a dangerous man.

  6. There are two ways to defend yourself from civil unrest; 1. don't be where civil unrest is taking place, 2. bring enough gun(s) and ammo.

I can almost guarantee that if a rioter is pelted with brain, blood and bone matter from another rioter, the rest of the crowd will rapidly lose interest in you.

    This scenario comes to mind:

  7. Next time you go to Walmart or other big box store try this exercise. Park, sit in your vehicle
and WATCH customers walking to and from the store. You will see 90% of them are completely oblivious to their surroundings / goings on etc whether alone or with another person. It's unbelievable and exactly what the article is trying to point out.
