I was wondering what my parents generation did for entertainment before cable TV and the internet. I asked my eleven siblings but they didn't know either.
In those days people did not smile when in family photographs. All the old German men in our family album from the 19th century are in uniforms and looked plenty serious, with not a smile anywhere, including the ladies.
