Prepping like a boss for the upcoming festivities

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee comptroller’s office says a former hospital worker stole at least $798,200 in medical supplies from the facility.

According to the comptroller’s investigation, former Maury Regional Medical Center supply chain department system coordinator Tommy John Riker was indicted this spring on theft and money laundering charges for incidents from April 2017 through September 2019.

  1. Not to condone any of those actions, but I saw a receipt for a severed finger surgery 1 night hospital stay. No Insurance. Nearly $20,000. Dont get me wrong, I appreciate doctors. But $798,000 in medical supplies doesn't sound like a lot to a hospital. The average nightly stay at any hospital will cost insurance $10,000. 30 beds, 30 days, $9,000,000. And all the hospitals ever complain about is almost going bankrupt.

  2. Eight hundred grand in hospital money is three aspirins and a Kleenex.

  3. Just tell the judge he was peacefully protesting, just without setting the hospital on fire or beating someone with a skateboard. He’ll be released on a OR and charges dropped.

  4. I can beat that.. I had my index finger torn off at the first knuckle on an industrial buffer. They knocked me out for 22 minutes, filed the bone stub down, and sewed what was left shut at the second knuckle. I was in and out in under 2 1/2 hours. No insurance.... Total bill: $22,000. F'ing thieving bastards. Thank you Summit Care of PA!!
