I'm looking for some good loads for a 22-250.
I've heard some great things about Varget powder but I know the tried and true powder is 4064.
I'm looking to load 50 to 55 grain spitzer or boattail bullets in the 3500+ fps range.
I want 1 MOA or less groups out of a Savage.
Can anybody out there help a nigga out?
Published data only, please.
I do have several manuals but I want personal workups of you have a pet load.

Eat a dick, anonymous #1.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys. I usually use handloads.com for new information but I've learned that it's best to ask the folks that know.
ReplyDeleteAnon #2, I believe I will buy a pound of Varget and try it out. When I started loading for my 41 magnum, H110 was recommended to me but I did it the hard way and bought 8 different pounds of powder. Five of those eight fertilized my yard and I kept 3 that worked. But the best by far was - you guessed it - H110. 296 was second and 2400 was the other.
Stevienatt, I suspect Anon #1 is no stranger to strangers' dicks. He at least should know he's not welcome here. I've got more friends of color than I do white boys.
I've never loaded for 22-250 but let us know how the Varget works out. I bought a can to try out but haven't had time to use it yet. I was told that it is Hodgdon's answer to 4064 before they acquired IMR.
