Wirecutter,
you would be suprised how many prior service and retirees have expatriated to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and especially the Phillipines. A retirees meager pension here in states is a fortune there. There are literally thousands of old GI's over there living like kings in huge houses, landowners, hot babes galore and paying no taxes!!
It might be your visitor is one of those guys?
