I'd say this fucking speed NUT is asking for one hell of a lawsuit with the public riding in the boat. Fine if he wants to go fucking nuts by hisself, but you just don't do that with other people in the boat.
Stinkwilly I was thinking the same, it looks like a lot of fun till the day he comes in with a hangover or something of that nature, it would be one hell of a law suit the day he slips and hits one of them rocks or walls. it still looks like a blast, 20 years ago!
Dadster is right, it is a commercial operation. Shotover Jet is the jewel in the crown of the "adventure tourism" industry in New Zealand, based in Queenstown, a couple o hundred miles away from where we live. Every self respecting Kiwi (New Zealander) has been on the shotover at least once. It is a ton of fun. They are a commercial operation working under New Zealands very strict health and safety rules. Yes, they have had the odd 'incident', but as far as I know, only one serious. But hey, there is always an element of risk in this kind of adventure tourism. By the way, it is local opinion that the ride used to be better than it is now. The Shotover Jets are big flat bottom jet boats built to carry a dozen people. In the good old days, they used to be powered by a well worked big block Chevy, but when the new owners took over the company they swapped the boats out with 2 jet units, each powered by a 3.8 litre (approx 270 cubic inch) supercharged Buick. Sounds like fun, but they are not as nimble as they used to be. My 350 Chev powered jet 52 will whip the pants off those. Still a great ride though!
Well it's in New Zealand and that is fine if that's what the customers want to do. However when you live in Amerika, that has 97% of the worlds scumbag fucking dirtbag sharks, they wouldn't dare do this for fear of one false move and some entitlement prick would own the boats and work for the lawyer who now owns the company.
That would be super easy to get hurt or killed by smacking a rock at those speeds. You don't have to go 60mph in a boat to get hurt bad. In the good 'ol USA the lawyers would be waiting in the parking lot.

there is the odd accident and death every few years... it all adds to the excitement. Not sure if Shotover Jet has had any serious accidents yet.
That will do it.
