From Joe, a friend of mine at work. This is his nephew doing the shooting.
I guess they loaded the dryer up with exploding targets 'just to see what would happen'.
The - 'whoa heh heh heh' laugh in this video was pretty much one I would have expected from a guy like Spicoli in Fast Times At Ridgemont High. I mean after he smoked a few joints and then accomplished something stupendously stupid. It fit right in here! That friggin dryer door sure could have done some messy damage. I will admit though, it is always fun watching the adventures of potential future Darwin Award candidates.
I always wanted to run an extension cord out into a field, plug it into a microwave, fill the microwave with gas, turn it on 5 minutes. If nothing happens, we'd shoot it with a tracer. It's. Bound to go boom. Never did try it though......
My buddies and I have shot a shit-ton of those exploding targets in the desert, but hadn't got around to blowing up anything good like a washer yet.
We talked about putting a few inside of a refrigerator last trip, but decided it would be too much hassle hauling a fridge all the way out there and back.
After watching this, that hassle doesn't seem like much of a hassle at all...
CD - just remember the cardinal rule of explosives - have the weakest part of the casing facing whatever you want to fuck up.
AngryMike - I'd be turning that motherfucker on with a long ass stick. The whole gas fumes and electricity thing, you know? But other than that, Hell Yeah!
wirecutter- Makes complete sense. I'll have to try and remember that one; although it's easier said than done most of the time we're campin'. Especially after the handle of Old Crow gets passed around a few times.
I let the younger and dumber ones of the group take all the risk these days. I supervise and bark orders at them from the safety of my camp chair around the fire. I figure their bodies will heal much quicker than mine if any safety precautions get overlooked and someone needs medical assistance. Heh!
Do you know where the guy's nephew shot this video? Just curious. The mountains in the background look a hell of a lot the ones where we sometimes go - South of I-10 and east of Hwy. 78 near the Chocolate Mtn Gunnery Range.
