Constitutional Sheriffs

In the most strident warning over gun control to President Obama yet, the Utah Sheriffs' Association is pledging to go to war over any administration plan to take guns away, even if it means losing their lives.
Calling the Second Amendment a sacred right of citizens to protect themselves from "tyrannical subjugation," the association state elected sheriffs said in a new letter, "we are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional interpretation."
Theirs is the first meaningful proof that some in law enforcement and the military are preparing to fight federal forces if the president wins his goal of sweeping gun control.

  1. Carl Denninger over at the market ticker had some interesting comments about this trend of sheriff's supporting the 2nd amendment. I tend to agree with him, where we're these guys when the 4th and 5th were being trampled? If they only care about gun rights, and not all constitutional rights, they're fair weather friends at best. To paraphrase Kim Du Toit, I don't want gun rights, I want all my fucking rights.

  2. Good to hear this.... at this point in time it's a mere drop in the bucket comparatively speaking.
Still far to many rank & file LEO's that see things the way that FL. cop did in threatening to shoot and kill the legally licensed concealed carry holder. These "only ones" I will imagine are at complete odds with the Uath Sheriff's Association.

  3. I've never had much problem with the Sheriffs of the land, it's those "citified" motherfuckers that think they are king shit of turd island that burns me.

  4. Our local Tea Party Group is having a meeting tomorrow with our local sheriff, police chief, Texas Ranger, DPS and Congresscritter. They will be told in no uncertain terms that we will not give up our firearms!
