Got preps?

Economists believe this could be the worst year since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Federal, state and local authorities know the ripple effect of the economic losses that were necessary to save lives during the coronavirus pandemic are just beginning. Rising unemployment comes with hunger.

  1. Camilus House (Overtown), Cutler Bay (Cutler Ridge), Opalaca... Those places are shit holes in the best of times! Nothing but a raft of welfare bums in all of them! No news here. My guess is the people living in those places are hitting the food pantries and trading the food for drugs. ...And I am NOT saying this in jest...

I spent three years in Miami while in the military. I was never so glad to leave a billet as I was when I left that place!

  2. We may need more than preps depending on what happens if Kung Flu makes a comeback. I went to my local Wally World and the grocery store I usually shop at this past week. Long term food supplies (any kind of canned anything with few exceptions) continue to be in short supply. I was able to score some canned mackerel at Wally World although I took the last four cans on the shelf. My grocery store had some replenish this week, but again most canned food is in short supply. Forget finding any dry food like beans, peas, lentils, cracked wheat, barley etc. There has been none to be had since mid February. They did have a restock on spaghetti sauce, but the stock is nowhere near what it used to be and NO spaghetti.

If there's a drought in the midwest this year, katy bar the door. There is a drought shaping up in S. Cali, in the mid central valley south into Mexico according to a recent long term forecast from NOAA.

Then there are reports of hundreds of thousands of pounds of fresh vegetables being dumped in FL because they either can't get the food to market (trucking) or the middle men aren't buying (restaurant supply). My Wally World and grocery stores had good supply of fresh fruits and veggies, but fresh meat was a problem again this week with limited cuts and quantity of beef, chicken and pork.

  3. From the photo and videos it looks like newist $30K to $40K cars and pickups in line to get free food. What gives? Get a clue: sell your vehicle, buy a small used one and use the proceeds to buy food.
