  1. Stimulus check? What stimulus check. I checked last night no stimulus. Got my SS drop, but no $1200.00 transfer.

Went to the IRS website where you can supposedly get an update on the status of your stimulus money. Down for maintenance, 10:PM to 6AM EVERY DAY thru the 28-APR.

Anyone else out there get their money yet?

    2. we filed our taxes electronically and had our return go directly to our checking account. The stimulous money was already pended to our account on 4/13 and put in the account on 4/15. I get the impression that if your only reported source of income is SS and you dont file tax returns or get refunds you will have to wait until...

    3. We haven't got ours yet. We file our tax returns electronically too. Lisa's on Social Security but I draw a pension from the job I retired from and those checks are direct deposit.

    4. Haven't gotten any WuFlu money yet, either. I'm just going to have to turn it around and send it back to them, anyway.

  2. I'm really curious if all these new gun owners will suddenly become second amendment supporters. My brother-in-law has traditionally been very scared of guns. He doesn't like the idea of them in the house. His son came to live with us for a couple of months, and he was very concerned about the guns in our house.

Then, a week or so ago, he called me want wanted to know if he could borrow a couple of my pistols for the next few months. I said sure, if he would let me show him some safety stuff and if he would come to my place and go through some familiarization training on the pistol range I have behind my house.

So, he and one of his sons came over, I went through the familiarization, and off they went with a couple of guns. They both enjoyed shooting, and I think that their attitude towards firearms has changed dramatically.

The same thing happened with my wife, by the way, though it was a few years ago. When we first got married, she wouldn't let me keep my guns in the house -- I had to store them in the garage. Then, a few years later, we had a murder and an assault in the neighborhood we were living in at the time. One day, she turned to me and said, "You know, maybe you should get a carry permit," I told her OK but only if she went with me. She did, and it turned out she loves to shoot and she loves to carry a gun. Go figure.

The libs think that this coronavirus has really changed society. Maybe, but I'm not sure it's changed in the way they think.
