'Blue state' governors' lockdowns put America in 'untenable situation'

Historian and Hoover Institution senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson told "The Story" Friday that Democratic governors of states like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Illinois are creating an "untenable situation" by being slow to lift lockdowns instituted to counter coronavirus.

"We don’t think more people will die because of the lockdown versus exposure to the virus," Hanson said, mimicking the thought process of some Democratic governors, "We have to be absolutely certain that nobody gets the virus and dies."

  1. VDH is one of the most astute observer/commentators on American politics and culture to come along in a long time. Great mind.

    1. He's being much too charitable, in my opinion.

The Left is deliberately trying to bankrupt the economy and the government in order to put the blame on Trump. If this were really in the name of public safety, they wouldn't be emptying jails and prisons and turning loose violent felons to "protect" these "vulnerable populations" from Winnie the Flu--they'd just make the felons wear masks like the rest of us, since the masks work so well. Right? How is it that a government shutdown is "catastrophic" and "disastrous" but putting three hundred million people out of work and on indefinite house arrest is "measured" and "reasonable?" Oh, yeah. It's not.

No, it's pretty obvious that the thought process is a lot more like "Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Look at those unemployment figures go up, up, up! Remember, guys, we have to keep blaming Trump for all of this! We've been following the Cloward-Piven Plan for fifty-five years and now it's our time to seize power! Who would have thought that fearmongering about the flu would make such an effective political weapon? Leftist Governors, remember, crater your states' economies as completely as possible and plow salt into the ruins, and crush anyone who tries to get the economy going again, then demand Trump start writing trillion dollar bailout checks for your states, even though you voted against him and have been trying to sabotage and hamstring him for three and a half years! We win either way--if he refuses, we get to blame him for that too! When we finish destroying the economy and bankrupting the government, and destroying AmeriKKKa as a world power so that the Socialist Revolution can bloom around the world, then the stupid hick proles in Flyover Country will surely come to us to lead them to scientific Marxist-Leninism! Just like they did in Hungary and Germany! All the newsmedia is in our corner except for talk radio and a few amateurs on the Internet, so we need to keep silencing them and have our friends at CNN and MSNBC tell the stupid proles everything is Trump's fault so that they'll blame him instead of us! Weimar Republic, here we come!"

Once upon a time we used to call this kind of thing "seditious conspiracy" and "high treason." But in Clown World, it's Tuesday. HONK HONK!

  2. Gov. Nuisance made such illogical and absurd requirements to be met before the state will be opened that it is likely the state will never be opened.

  5. Blue states?
What about red state Ohio, with Republican Gunner Whine, and Dr. Amy wrecking rights and finances.
Some people want to classify it as a Blue vs Red thing.
Red can be as tyrannical as Blue, sometimes more so.

My only disagreement is that it isn't just Dem governors of blue states; we've got our own RINO here in MA doing a bang-up job of fucking us over.
