Gee, was I misconskrewed? I thought guns were illegal in MD. Oh, my bad. Guns aren't illegal. You just can't get ANY JURISDICTION in MD to issue you a PERMIT to purchase or own one. But, you know the REAL CRIMINALS they always have guns because the criminals abide by the law.

Not illegal yet, but it’s not for the legislators lack of trying. :-/
DeleteThe thing that’s nearly impossible to get is a carry permit, as open carry is not allowed. Why? Because it’s a ‘may issue’ state. Translation: you have to prove ‘sufficient need’, and being a law abiding citizen isn’t sufficient need, nor having had to place a restraining order against a known violent spouse or ex, or living in a bad neighborhood.
It’s not a castle doctrine state either. You’re expected to retreat from a lethal threat, even in your own property. We’re told to ‘call the police’ if that occurs. Why? So they can come and put a chalk outline around your body.
It’s not as bad here as in NJ or DC, but they’re working on it. :-/
Two "factions " in the community...yeah right.
