BATH COUNTY, Ky. (AP) — Authorities in Kentucky said four children died and one is missing after a buggy carrying an Amish family was swept away in the current while trying to cross a low-water bridge. MORE
We have a community of Amish people living here in rural West Michigan. At least a couple of times that I can remember, a drunk driver has hit their horse drawn buggy and killed someone. The last time it was a 14 year old girl, if I remember right. They also had a barn burn down once. They held a barn raising, and had it replaced the same day they started working on it. One day to build a good sized barn. I was suitably impressed. pigpen51
I guess the old adage: "Live & Learn" doesn't apply here.
