I never could get fly fishing down

It's easy enough getting the very basics down, but it's one of those things that the deeper you get into it, the harder it gets.

  1. Never could get fly fishing myself. I mean, I could never set the hook on those little buggers. Then they'd take off.

I see what you did there Mr. Wirecutter.
I prefer my fish a little closer to the bone ( sweeter is the meat ) but I get what you are saying.
First time around, it would be very hard casting that line.

  4. My idea of fishing a small lake or farm pond is to tie some rolls of 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch hardware cloth together and use that wire as a seine. With trucks or boats pulling each end of the seine, you drag the entire pond or lake. Throw back what you don't want and cook the rest.
