Unk: I was going to say I don't recognize that brand of turkey, thinking it was a buzzard, but now I'm not sure which it is. It's not a boy-type turkey. I don't think.
I think you are both right. I have seen this bird before, I think it is a Turkey Vulture. It is hard to tell from this angle, but here is a link to info on them, plus pictures. https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/turkey-vulture
Had to laugh when I saw this photo. About 10 years ago, we were driving up to Wisconsin for some pheasant hunting and a turkey buzzard flew into my car at 70mph. Scared the crap out of us. He left a nice dust outline on my hood.
I had a Great Blue Heron fly into my windshield one night, just around dusk. It didn't break my windshield, but it made a mess, and scared the shit out of me. I never saw it until it hit my car, I thought it was a boulder or something. Of course, driving 40 miles one way to work for the first half of my 35 years, I hit 4 or 5 deer. Just one of the pleasures of living in Michigan.
That looks like a turkey. And since it is currently turkey season here, that looks like a good day waiting to happen

DeleteLooks like a buzzard to me.
DeleteIts a turkey. Breast that fucker and get the grease hot.
DeleteSkipperdaddy
Maybe it's a Turkey Buzzard/Turkey Vulture?
DeleteWhich, if that was your car, you would be "Buzzard Bait"!
DeleteTurkey. Buzzards have sharper ending feathers. Turkeys have rounder ended feathers.
DeleteJust a turkey.

Let me see the beard on that bastard! I have a turkey tag and it expires on Sunday!
DeleteTurkey, buzzards are uglier than that bird. It's actually easy to tell them apart.
ReplyDeleteWe've had buzzards in my area all my life. Turkeys have just started showing up near here.
